2k servers=EPIC FAIL

I'm in love with this game...offline.

Online..this game is an absolute trainwreck.

In 4 online league games...I've been disconnected 3 times.

It's a waste of my time and energy to actually have fun playing a league game, then get disconnected midway through the 3rd quarter or worse yet...with 2 min left in the game.

It was like this last year and it is the same way again this year.

2k..get your act together. It's ridiculous to have this much of an issue every single year on just getting one friggin' 8 min quarter game in.

End of rant.

Re: 2k servers=EPIC FAIL

Totally agree with you BRO !!

I fall asleep when playing offline

I need that human element involved when playing any sports game and I only enjoy playing games online.....Soooo I'm basically screwed !!

Where is the patch ? Where is the online fix ?

It's been over a week since this game was released

Has 2K said anything about addressing these issues ?

Re: 2k servers=EPIC FAIL

I thought it was worse then last year. I have yet connected to a game of team-up.

The only game I've played was less then a minute with DC, but it was lagging bad. Could be me since I was playin during a storm...

Re: 2k servers=EPIC FAIL

When I played team up or regular games, it works fine if I invite my friends, but their search system is totally busted on a level I've never seen before. You would think after last year whatever people run their servers/write the networking for this game would be on a short leash, but I guess you'd be wrong. If the My player mode wasn't really fun, I'm fairly confident I would have just returned the game.

Re: 2k servers=EPIC FAIL

Most games have server issues online when they first release. Battlefield 1943 being another fine example...

I doubt it's possible to turn around a patch in anything close to a week.

Re: 2k servers=EPIC FAIL

I just don't think there are any excuses for server issues. If you, as a developer look into the future and believe your game is going to have issues, the opportunity is there for a beta test. Look at Halo 3 or CoD4, both games had beta tests, and it would be very difficult to dispute that they didn't come out better because of it. Neither of those games has ever had major, game crippling issues like NBA 2K9 or 2K10.

Re: 2k servers=EPIC FAIL

All of these issues this year lead me to believe 2k has horrible testers, but in terms of the online issues there really are no excuses.

They claimed to change the server coding and all of this other nice talk before release and now it's worse than ever.

The servers can't handle 10000 people online at once? I've played COD 4 when there were over half a million users online and my bullets still registered as soon as I pulled the trigger.

Another thing I don't understand is how the framerate is so bad even though it's supposed to run at 60 fps. Shouldn't it still run smooth unless it dips below 30fps? That means it's not running at even half the frames they claim it does. Bah.

Optimize. Optimize. Optimize. This should be the goal of the development team next year, online and off. EA got it right.

Re: 2k servers=EPIC FAIL

Man, you guys are all right on point. After last year, you realy WOULD think that server issues would be the last thing you would find, especially given how involved the online experience is with the total came. It's like buying a car and then hearing, "We'll get you the wheels when we can." Or in 2K's case, just not hearing anything about when you might get the wheels. The MyPlayer pickup games doesn't work AT ALL, the furthest that I have gotten is an inbound pass after the possession shot, and that was only once in about 30 tries. That is completely unexceptible. Other issues, Crew games freeze at the end AFTER you have already won, and when you quit out you get a Los and a Quit, and this is after the game is over.

Yeah, beta please! But hell, it doesn't even seem like they have in-house testing and if they do, every last tester should be fired, YESTERDAY! Hope these aren't the same people testing the supposed patch.

BUT, responsibility lies with us too, WE have to be banging on their support and forum sites telling them this stuff and following up. They can ignire a few people and take their time but they can't ignore millions. Everyone need to start filing server issues and we will all keep filing and following up until our voices are heard. Tell everyone that you know that is playing this game to do the same.

If we can show a big force, they will have to listen. We should organize a complete blackout on their servers. Everyone on the same day for about 2 days just completely stop playing 2K10. This will represent to them the number of users they will lose (in sales of NBA 2K11) if they don't fix the servers now for 2K10.

The alternative is that EA sees these server issue and figures that it's worth the risk to throw huge sums of money at the NBA for Exclusive rights and we end up play a crap game with now competition. A la NFL 2k5 and Madden. And I, for one, think that this is one of the deepest and best NBA games ever made, if not THE best (Apart from servers issues). If all the server and website functionally is working perfectly, EASILY the best sports game I have ever played, and I have played them all.

If people are interested in organizing a 2 day blackout as a show of force, please comment on this thread, if we can begin to see lots of hits on this I will help organize it. Just stopping play for 2 days could yield huge dividends, trust me. I will actually start a new post for this. Hope you all join in. We should look at doing it in 2-3 weeks, so that we can drum up enough support.

This game is worth saving!
