I think 2k lost their best guy to EA and now the have the bench players working on this game. Too bad.

That's just graphics and gameplay, nothing to do with the servers. No excuse.

I like having 2 games so that I can switch it up so that is why I have been lurking on the 2k boards. I was smart this year and rented both games. I purchased the other and I have had ZERO problems online...plays at the same speed and framerate as offline. Hopefully 2k can get their servers right and I will buy the game...used...no way they get my money this year.

Same here, I purchased the other game this year and online is freaking awesome, silky smooth. Even in the Adidas Live Run with 10 individual users on the court together, the game runs fine.
I was very put off by the Online play in 2k9 last year, so I gave the other game a shot. I am very happy I did. I am very dissappointed with the problems you guys are having. It is not fair after we all complained about the servers in 2k9 last year, and this year they seam to be having the exact same issues. Very dissapointing.

i have been a 2k guy since the days of allen iverson and randy moss.
online is not playable.
quick ranked games are rare too find, and than once you start they are very laggy and slow; nothing compared to offline play with a human vs human.
Didn't they claim that they were moving to new servers (I believe they were Take Two's servers)? Hasn't helped, apparently. Pretty sad that they've had the same problems since 2K7 "network error" and crap like that.
Same "Please refer to the (nonexistant) 2K Sports Online FAQ" error message too, which is like a slap in the face to people who have bought their games and experienced that countless times for almost the last 4 years. I understand that people may not have open NATs, slow connections, etc., but if Live can do 10 users playing the game with little to no issues, I don't understand why 2K can't do the same, especially if they're using quality Take Two servers (GTA and other TT games ran fine online).

No, you need to stop buying the game. That's a decision I made last year, and I am sticking to it. Every 2k game I have ever played online had lag... I wouldn't have known any different if I hadn't played nba live 05 and 06 on PC. To all those people who say there is always lag in online gameplay... that is WRONG. There is sometimes, sure... some people have no business playing online with their broke connections... but I've played plenty of games online that played just like offline. That's how it should be!! What's the point of online play if it lags?
well I really hope the new patch fixes the lag issues, because when ever I try to do myplayer pickup games I always get network error and im on a great connection.... I just pray to god the servers aren't this bad after the first patch is released

Seems to be playing a little bit better online BUT !! the cheeeeezers continue to abuse the exploits in this game and are having an absolute field day.
