OS Sim League (formerly OS Crew) Season 2 Discussion Thread

And heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere we go!

Season 2's thread will kick off with the defending League Champion Indiana Pacers and the announcement of their new lineup.

And now.... the Starting Lineup for your Indiana Pacers!!

PG Nate Robinson- "Nate the Great" packs a powerful punch in a small package. He can shoot from anywhere on the court, is ridiculously fast, and can dunk on anyone.

SG Ben Gordon- One of the best pure shooters in the NBA. Can drain it from anywhere on the court.

SF Danny Granger- Basically....Jesus in a Basketball Uniform. Granger was the major reason that Indiana shocked the world and won the NBA title in Season 1. He is almost impossible to stop, can shoot the 3, hit the jumper, or take you off the dribble. His size and his shooting ability create huge mismatches for all who try to stop him. The #1 scoring option at all times for AuburnAlumni's Pacers.

PF Al Harrington- Another multidimensional threat, Al must be guarded all the way out to the 3 point line or he'll make you pay. He's big, he's quick, and he can shoot.

PF/CRasheed Wallace- Hey! What do you know...another shooter! Wallace is a perennial All Star and can stretch the defense all the way out to the 3 point line as well.

This lineup is flat out nasty shooting wise. All 5 positions are capable of hitting any shot from anywhere on the court, making defense very difficult and opening up lanes down low due to having to defend Harrington and Wallace all the way out to the 3 point line.

Off the bench....

Mike Dunleavy, Marquis Daniels, and Jason Kapono provide more scoring punch and versatility to play the 2,3, and even 4 positions if necessary. Theo Ratliff and Brook Lopez provide quality big men off the bench. Troy Murphy is another dual threat at Power Forward...as he can bang down low or step out and hit a 3 in your face. T.J. Ford provides a big time reserve at Point Guard.

8 of the 12 players on this roster have at least an 85 rating from 3 point land. The shots will be raining down when teams come to Conseco Fieldhouse as Indiana looks to repeat as Sim League Champions!

That's a great offensive lineup, you are going to put up big points.

Here are the Minnesota T'Wolves:

Starters
PG Devin Harris | 6-3 guard who is a solid defender and can knock down jumpers from anywhere. Not deadly from deep but he'll make you respect it.
SG Vince Carter | 6-6 slasher who can shoot. You all know VC and what he's about.
SF Tayshaun Prince | 6-9 lanky defender who will hopefully disrupt the stud SF's in the league. He is a solid shooter from all-around but defense is where he needs to make his mark.
PF Kevin Garnett | 6-11 beast who can play lockdown D and knock down mid-range J's easy.
C Rasho Nesterovic | 7 footer who has a decent mid-range touch and will be a big body down low. His job is to get rebounds and hit wide open shots.

Role Players
PG Daniel Gibson | He's a shooter and will get his when he comes into the game.
SG Anthony Parker | Another shooter off the bench
SF Richard Jefferson | Perfect backup for Prince because Jefferson can provide some instant offense.
PF Andrea Bargnani | I like bigs who can shoot and that's what he can do.
C Brendan Haywood | He'll split time with Rasho and whoever plays better will hold down the starting job.

Illadelphia 76ers

Starters

G|Jameer Nelson - Will distribute the rock and knock down the open 3 as well as play solid D.
G|Joe Johnson - JJ will be Mr. Do-it-All for me. He'll score, distribute, and defend well.
F|Thaddeus Young - Long, athletic swingman who can knock down jumpshots, rebound, and get out in transition
F|Josh Smith - Athletic monster, great help defender and plays above the rim on both ends of the floor
C|Emeka Okafor - Brought him in to clean the glass and defend some of the better bigmen.

Bench
G| DJ Augustin - A solid scoring threat and will bring instant offense off the bench
G| Deshawn Stevenson - A legit defender as well as a 3 point marksman. He'll bring intensity and outside shooting off the bench.
F| Andres Nocioni - He was still available with the 11th pick
F| Wilson Chandler - Can play the 2, 3, and 4 as well as stretch defenses to the arc.
F| Marreese Speights - Rookie who will bring some inside scoring off the bench as well as rebounding.
F| Tyrus Thomas - Freak athlete who can play decent D and rebound well
C| Samuel Dalembert - Athletic big who brings size and length into the paint, can rebound and block shots well.

So basically I don't have really any inside presence on offense. I have the feeling my team will turn out to be extremely average.

Just posted the season opening article. Let's try and make an effort to put together some nice articles after a big win and get some videos up there. It takes a couple minutes but adds greatly to the league.

Re: OS Sim League (formerly OS Crew) Season 2 Discussion Thread

I just played my first game against Stewaat and it was amazing. I wasn't even going to join the league because I couldn't stand this game offline, but I am so glad I did just due to the fun factor alone. I am also in love with the site it provides your league

I had a very, very solid draft and I am loving my team. I am the Celtics and my lineup is as follows -

=============================================

PG - Rajon Rondo

Rondo is a very good point guard and he hits the open shot more times than not. He was picked for the sole purpose of making great passes and reliable ball handling when needed. He feeds the rock to my 2 top scorers and isn't a liability when needed to shoot the ball.

SG - Gilbert Arenas

The first player picked for me. Agent 0 knocks down shots that are seemingly impossible on a regular basis. He has played good D for me so far and when he gets hot he is deadly.

SF - Paul Pierce

The other half of my Tremendous 2. Pierce also gets a hot hand and lights the court up. He is a great defender for me and can shoot the 3, drive the lane, and hit the mid rangers.

PF - Jermaine O'Neal

Jermaine is not what he used to be, we know that. However, he is still a very good post option for my team. He gets his share of in the paint points and does a good job on D and with his rebounding. If utilized properly, he could be a bigger scoring threat.

C - Andrew Bogut

Rebounds, rebounds, rebounds! Bogut is killing people on the boards and he can score if needed. His defense is good enough to allow him to hold his own and his size does not allow him to be backed down easily.

BENCH

Ben Wallace - Not a big scoring threat, but his offensive rebounds just devisitate teams. With Pierce and Arenas on the court you can't give the Cetlics too many 2nd chances, and that is exactly what Big Ben has been doing.

Marvin Williams - He has great size and is above average on the inside and outside shots. He can play the post if needed and his great athleticism allows him to drive the lane often.

Andre Iguodola - I love this guy. He is such a slasher with such nice touch on his shots that he is actually taking away playing time from Pierce and Arenas. He shoots the 3 well and as I said before, his slashing ability makes him so dangerous.

Raymond Felton - Felton provides great depth at point. He can makes a lot of good passes and handles the ball well. I don't expect a lot out of Felton, but it is more of a pleasure than a nuisance to have him coming off the bench.

Nick Young - Young doesn't see a lot of playing time. He is primarily on the team for injury/foul trouble that could show up down the road. Young is a taller guard who plays decent D and can shoot the lights out. Really a non factor most of the time, but a good pick up late in the draft.

Stephon Marbury - Not a bad guy to have relieving my younger guards. He shoots a good 3 and can handle the ball well. Not a big minutes guy, but just a comfortable reserve.

Jason Maxiell - I love having Maxiell in the post. He can score better than average and he rebounds very well. He plays solid D for me and that's what I really want out of my bigger men. His rebounding is pretty solid and he is very reliable once in the paint.
