Sorry about the title

Anyways, a partial answer is player matches. What you do is go into your online settings, and setup custom sliders and game rules. Turn down the shooting ratings and turn up fouls, set FT% to real life. Basically, when you play a Player Match, if you are the home team, your settings apply to the game. With the right settings, it's no longer a 3pt shootout and inside buckets aren't money either.

I'll post the settings I use here later if anyone's interested.

its a pain adjusting the sliders each time you set up a player match game, this should just have been something they figured out before releasing the game, tweaking an making the sliders online as close to real as possible.

You don't have to do it every time, just tweak them, and press "Start" to save them.

Don't know what to tell you, saves them for me and everytime I log in or start up the game they are still there and the same each time.

Yea you can save them, then just load them before you go online -- maybe that's the issue you're running into. I've played the game this way the last few years.

You don't even need to load them (maybe you had to in previous years?) they are saved and load automatically.

Yup. It makes sense that the home team decides the settings, which I find good and bad. Once this gets out, no-one's going to want to play as the away team because there's no way to tell what settings you are playing on.

The main ones I use are:
Diff: PRO
Real FT% ON,

Fouls: 60, 60, 70, 60, 100

Close Shot Success: 30
Mid-Range Success: 42
3PT Success: 43
Layup: 47

Attribs:
Stealing : 40
Blocking: 30
Speed: 45
Stamina: 45

I know people are gonna scream "PRO!" and think it has to be HOF to be a real game....That's nothing but ego. This game plays much better at Pro, with the right settings.

I played a game tonite against some moron that jacked up 31 3pt's against me with Nash. He made 4, while I made 6/12 3pt's. The difference was I took mine when open, all his had hands in the face. The foul settings also really help against those people that spam steal...they will foul out.

It finally feels like a fair game, no more jacking up 3's from a double team and/or easy baskets in the post. Plus with the stamina settings lowered, those people that just run around will get tired quicker. All around I think it's a much better experience.
