06 or 07?

I loved 06, turns out it was one of my favorite baseball games ever.

But, I got "The Show" for PS3 and never looked back. Now, I'm craving the ping of the bat and the create a stadium.

Is 07 significantly better than 06?

Do either of them have 1 button pitching? (My old wrist doesnt like 3button presses 100 times a game)

Lastly, where can I get either cheaply?

Thanks

Re: 06 or 07?

I'm not sure that 07 is a better game. 07's default rosters are terrible (they're actually 06's rosters randomly assigned). I was never 100% convinced with the analog pitching. Besides the fastball bug (which can be corrected by upping and exagerating a pitcher's fastball speed rating), I'm not sure it worked better than the 06 version, though it's probably more fun.

06 just seems like a better product, one which counted with much more attention than the half-assed 07 version which was released only on PS2 with a couple of new features and teams but the problems I mentioned before and little if any other gamplay changes. EA had made up its mind on the series after 06, so 07 never got the treatment it deserved form EA. Now that I own an Xbox 360 I would probably go with 06 if it were backward compatible, over dusting off the PS2 with its wired controllers for 07.

Re: 06 or 07?

i never played 07, but 06 is one great game. i highly recommend you play it even now. the one glitch to it for me was finding sliders that actually allowed you to strike the cpu out. the cpu contact is way too good. what i did was up the cpu power to 30 or more and the cpu contact at -50. i played 4 seasons in a row over the winter (PS2) even though i own a 360 and had mlb 2k8.

the game just feels good. there are little things it does that are just fun. the best feature is the made up players after a season or two. there is no comparing to real life people like the mlb games have to contend with. your team is your team.

i don't like the fact you are not really aware of what your recruited player will be good at until you sign him. for instance, will he hit HR's or is he fast or a good fielder? the recruiting doesn't show any of that.

i bought a vga-lite for my office computer and play my ps2 on it. it really makes coffee breaks more fun.
