recruiting / pitching questions for 06 vets

is the recruiting too easy? do you have house rules if it is?

i was able to recruit the 2nd best player in the top 100 last year and a three total from that list and i am using Cal Poly. i finished 33-26.

also, i am wondering how many strikeouts you get per game? when i simmed part of my season to see how many my SP's get, my two seniors were averaging 10 per game. one is a 96 ranked and the other 76 but has two killer pitches.

when i pitch i strike out only a couple batters. they foul most pitches off and rarely do they watch a pitch go by. i am using jistic's sliders and he has CPU Swing high, like +35 or so. i have been getting better at making them swing at pitches out of the zone, but it stills seems too hard to get them to strikeout.

where should cpu swing be? the problem is, i want a realistic experience with strikeouts but not to the point where the cpu cannot score. that may be a tough balance.

I'm interested to know this as well. It's the only thing that's really stopping me from continuing my Air Force career.

I have mine at +15 I think. I had 5 strikeouts with a pitcher that has a 96 mph fastball. I rarely throw the ball out of the zone. It works well for me, but the cpu doesn't swing at a lot of pitches out of the zone. Once again, I don't throw many out of the zone either. I'd try about a +17

i moved it the opposite way to -20 swing with -25 contact. the cpu is still hitting me, especially the top teams. the cpu lets some pitches go by still. i am thinking of making it -25 swing too. i keep going back and forth between -20 and -25.

I never thought recruiting was too easy, but maybe if you're winning the championship almost every year that could make it easier...

Also, I've never been able to get a realistic amount of strikeouts so I just decided to stop trying to and just play the game. I guess moving the slider either way could make it go up, but the negatives is probably the best if you usually just throw strikes.

that is why i am asking. i dont want to waste time trying to figure it out if it can't be fixed. i have tried to pitch better, because there are times a K is the best thing you could hope for late in a game with runners in scoring position.

i have found that you need a fastball guy. i think this game really imitates the finesse pitcher better than any baseball game out there. and i have played them all.
