I don't think people are calling the game bad, per say. It's more that the dev team took a great game in last year's MVP, and didn't enhance or further it enough to make a significant difference.

Exactly. I liked last year's gameplay and this year is nearly identical save for the pitching. If I had kept last year's, there wouldn't really be a huge need to have this game. It's still a good game of baseball.

Re: really that bad?

You guys hit the nail on the head. There was no improvement to this years game. It took a step back in my opinion, by not having the Nike cleats and by not incorporating alternative uniforms. It is a known fact that college ball is play in sets. Uniforms get dirty, which is why you see teams wearing various uniforms on 3 game sets. It should have translated over to the game, regardless of how much memory or space the team had to work with. The could have gotten rid of the situation game and those pitching and hitting games. I just love the game, don't get me wrong, but I feel as if they made no progression. Last years game was phenomenal. It really was all that MVP could have done right(minus the alternative unis). Then this years version comes out and people expect more out of it and it lets people down.

not having realistic rosters, not even from last year killed the experience. And the fact that they just mixed up the teams from last years game shows a true lack of effort.

NO REAL IMPROVEMENTS MADE FROM LAST YEAR'S GAME. VERY DISAPPOINTING.

Re: really that bad?

The game is fun to play, but the expectations of things we are used to seeing now for the past 5 years with college games (like accurate rosters, modifiable schedules, more create a team options) makes it seem very disapointing. This could have been one of the greatest games ever in my book, but rosters that do not match up to anyone went out when Tecmo Bowl put the names in back in the early 90's.

Can anyone name another collegiate or professional sports game with rosters that do not match to anyone in the past 10 years?
