Score is down from last year.

The main flaw they pointed out is that Rock-N-Fire pitching doesn't work during multiplayer. The batter will see where you are throwing the pitch.

The new pitching scheme didn't look that cool to me, I'm going back to the old pitching meter.

Yeah if you're going to choose to re-use an engine...theres no shame when its the MVP engine.....the game is bought and paid for and ready to go in my ps3 come Wednesday.

The author mentions that after a half hour or so he was throwing strikes with ease using rock and fire. That doesn't sound like good news. Hopefully he was playing on rookie and the meter difficulty increases with difficulty levels/sliders.

Re: IGN.com Review of MVP 07

I thought that this was a pretty good review. It makes perfect sense to me why the Rock and Fire feature is a bust on the PS2. I could also understand the complaints about the graphics. PS2 is last gen, so of course the graphics will not be as good as expected.

I also liked the comment in which the reviewer stated that the Rock and Fire would make it easy to transition to the fielding mechanic. Some may say that it would make the game more easy, but I think it adds some continuity and flow to the controls and gameplay.

All that aside, it would be nice if they made for the current gen 360 models.

Re: IGN.com Review of MVP 07

Even mentioning "next-gen" in a review of a "current-gen" ONLY game is asinine.
The graphics should be compared to last years' game and similar titles on the PS2.
To claim that there are features not included in the game because it isn't "next-gen" is even more ludicrous;one only needs to look at EA sports titles on "next-gen" to see how many features weren't included that ARE in the "current-gen" versions.

I really don't know what IGN was expecting.
