CPU Catch Effort: + mean more, or less?

I am tired of seeing my opponent make incredible diving catches every other inning, so I jacked the CPU Catch effort slider on MVP all the way up to 50, and I'm still seing then make incredible plays. Am I setting it up the completely opposite way of what I should? Should it be at a negative number? The higher the number, the more effort it should take for the CPU to make these catches, right? It almost seems that sometimes, hits are pre-determined, as in, the A.I. purposely has the ball's path track just as far as it can before the CPU makes the diving catch. Really frustrating.

ifyou put catch effort in minus the cpu will make fewer diving catches. i have mine at -15 and i see a realistic amount of diving catches. hope this helps.

The more positive means the more effort the CPU puts into making the catch.

Well, there ya go. After playing over 110 games, I am tired of seeing guys for Duke make Jim Edmonds type catches.

Re: CPU Catch Effort: + mean more, or less?

CPU Catch Effort just effects how fast they run after the ball.
+ means they run after it faster
- means they run after it slower

If you lower it you can really see the effects on the infielders on foul balls.

If you increase the CPU Catch Error it will decrease the number of "Jim Edmonds type catches", but it also cause them to drop or fumble more plays in general.
