MVP Level Slider TEST

These are my final MVP level slider settings. I'm not going to include things like which batting system, as I'll leave that to you to decide. Of course things like pitch speed are preferential, but remember as you adjust the pitch speed, you will need to adjust the steal speed slider as well. A minor adjustment may need to be made from time to time with these, but I've played enough now and tested to feel very comfortable with these sliders. Good luck, and have fun!

Re: MVP Level Slider TEST

Okay, so I'm the only one on this forum that likes playing MVP level. Ok, if anyone feels like helping, then your help is wanted, otherwise I'll work on it myself. Thanks!

Re: MVP Level Slider TEST

Well in my first full 9 inning game, I had some great results!!! First of all, let me begin by saying I'm not at all a real accomplished hitter in this game, and that really hurt me. I am a veteran to the MVP series, but as you know the new batting system has a learning curve. anyways, I played TCU vs TCU. Just to get an even matchup. I lost 5-3. I had 11 hits to their 8. We both walked once each. I could have walked more, but I'm not real disciplined yet. I swung at ball 4 twice. And this reliever was begging to walk me, but because of my stupidity I continued to swing at balls. Gosh!!!!! I think there are easily 4 to 6 walks in this slider set. We both had one error each. I struck out 10 times, partly my bad batting skills. I struck them out 5 times. There were no homeruns hit in this game, this is something I'm going to track over the next few games, then make an adjustment later. Let me just say, this was a good game, as I played, I began to make a few in game tweaks. I will edit the above sliders, and mark where changes were made. Great game!! Again, anyone who'd like to give it a shot, MVP is not unbeatable. As a matter of fact, I felt like it was my game to lose, since I swung at everything almost. I've got to get more patient, which I used to be but the new batting system gets me thinking too much at the moment. As a previous thread mentioned about the college baseball game, it was a lot of singles, only a few doubles, and no triples.

Re: MVP Level Slider TEST

I've won fairly easy on All-American so far, and I think I may try MVP later today. I might give these a shot. They seem realistic to me.

I have had some homers in my past couple games, which seems to be the exception from everyone else here.

* Denotes changes to Sliders.

There are a couple of things on here that are more preferential to me than really game effecting. I just don't like the hustle button. With it I think the outfielders cover too much ground, and the cpu doesn't seem to use it...which seems odd for me to gain an advantage that the cpu can't. Thus the reason I turned it almost completely down.

Like I said, this is an initial beginning. Therefore, let's try to limit the "are you crazy for setting that slider at that setting" posts, I expect changes to need to be made. Those who want to participate in this MVP level slider test, please plug these in and lets start with some testing. I'll be back late this evening to check anyone's results and making adjustments.

** One final note....please be a patient hitter. I think we will get walks with these settings, if you'll be patient. And as a pitcher, don't try to throw strikes all the time, try the edges and corners, or a occaisional ball on purpose.
these are tight. I am having some very good games with them. good work ghill.

Re: MVP Level Slider TEST

Thanks alot to Thrash13 and Volman for possibly trying these out. I'll strive to get the best and most realistic set for the MVP level that is possible. I strive for perfection, almost to a fault. Let me know, and maybe post some stats that will help document how these sliders are doing. I'm going to play a game right now and I'll be back to post more stats.

I'm not sure about the power numbers yet, I'm gonna let that play out for about 3 or 4 games first and see what happens. I think the settings are fine really for those sliders, but we'll see.

Re: MVP Level Slider TEST

I just played a game where I was GT against Miami and I was losing 4-0 until the bottom of the 8th then they brought in a reliever and i hit 2 homers off of him and ended up winning 5-4. I had 11 hits and they had 9, Great job on the sliders GHill

Re: MVP Level Slider TEST

I'm glad you liked them. I played, but unfortunately I had to stop after 7 innings. I again just played TCU vs TCU, this time with different starting pitchers and a couple different lineup changes. I was down 4-1, however, geez did I have oppurtunities. I had bases loaded with 1 out, didn't get a run out of it. I had two men on with no outs, didn't get a run out of it. I struck out 8 times in 7 innings, mostly my fault. I did strike the cpu out 3 times, but I had the worst starter pitching for me, he's not all that great. I walked twice, they walked once. I could have walked at least two more times, as I swung at ball 4 twice. There again were no homeruns...I'm glad some of you might be getting them, I don't, nor does the cpu. I'll be patient here, perhaps they'll come. I think they had 8 hits and I had 9, but I couldn't do anything with mine. One error each, I really thought they had two, but it didn't count a high throw as an error. It was really once again a nice game, but I decided to make a couple very small tweaks....you may agree or not.

First, I decided I wanted the outfielders to have one more point of speed. So I put it back to -1. But I left the infield at -2. And I decided to turn up the bullpen grace just a bit. I set it real low in the first place because I don't want relievers to be able to warm up for 3 innings and have full stamina, but after playing a couple games, I decided I would slightly adjust this. I will note the changes above. You may decide if you want to do so or not. Keep playing, let me know what you think!

Re: MVP Level Slider TEST

Oh btw, I'm not using L&F batting. I'm using good ole' classic batting, i'm so used to playing MVP 04 and 05 classic just feels good. I am using the analog throwing though.

I see pitches all the time that I know I would jack had I been using the old system...but I'll get there. I haven't had enough playing time yet.
