ALL K GAMES: GET YOUR OWN ROOM

First of all...Mods please sticky this as I feel it is VERY important to make EVERYONE, on either side of the issue, happy. I'm not putting up with the same BS I had to put up with with MVP '05. With that said...

If you do not intend to play the game of baseball the way it was intended to be played please create your own room instead of complaining and quiting once you realize that you know very little about baseball and stand a next to nothing chance against someone who actually has a grasp of the game.

I don't care how you play the game, you paid $$$ for it just like me, but please do not assume that all games are K games. I enjoy the strategy of baseball and this includes throwing pitches out of the zone to set up other pitches. It's not that "I don't have a life" it's just simple baseball etiquette.

"If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the KKKKKKKKKKKitchen."

Thank you.

Amen. I see it like this - EA put in a "strikezone only" option this year, just for that type of player. Yet they don't have that as an option for ranked games, only unranked. Could it be that (GASP!) EA wants us to play the game in a true-to-life way for our ranking? What a concept!

These characters who want strikes only games usually know they're not patient enough to actually take a pitch once in awhile, so they try to bring the other player down to their level to make themselves feel good (or to better their rank). You can bet that they'll almost always play as Texas or Florida too.

There's one other thing to mention, relating more to the college game - With the lesser abilities of college pitchers, it's actually kinda hard to throw strikes all game without throwing a ball unintentionally. The meter just moves that much quicker, and the green and yellow areas are much smaller than the MLB guys.

I have to say though, that the best part is when someone (usually the strikes only player) whines about you throwing pitchouts (as they swing anyway and miss badly). Give me a break.

Finally other players who know what baseball is all about. Strike only games are a joke. If anyone would like to play baseball the way it was intended put me on your friends list. My gamertag is: Bronk

Re: ALL K GAMES: GET YOUR OWN ROOM

The thing IMO that is most annoying about people who want to play only strikes is that they never tell you beforehand. You go in to the game and suddenly theyre demanding you throw all strikes. I hate all strikes games because it's just stupid. I mean an 0-2 splitter in the strike zone is a terrible pitch; for the most part any 0-2 pitch OR splitter in the zone is a bad pitch and it's so frustrating that people dont get that.

I think the problem is that most people dont hit in the game like they do (or would) in real life. In real life hitters dont swing at every pitch in the strike zone - unless there are two strikes they're going to be looking for a certain type of pitch and if they dont get it, they'll take. The thing is, the pitch they're looking for is rarely confused with a pitch out of the zone; so they take balls. They're forced to expand the zone with two strikes and that's when they swing and miss out of the zone.

Anyhow...I feel like I was preaching to the converted on that one. Oh well, if anyone who likes all strikes games sees it, that's why those of us who actually know baseball don't like them!

I agree, when I first played '05 online people would get all mad. Now i always throw strikes to people and enjoy fooling them that way. Even throwing all strikes I make people look like fools.
