I agree that 2k8 will be closer, but MVP 08 will have every Roster spot filled with stats and photos from the Majors, down th single A. I can constanlty update the roster correctly and make any modifications. The Stadiums are all acurate, including all the signs and the gameplay itself can be changed to a large degree by simply implementing a new datafile into the program.

None of that can be done on mlb 2k8......

Soooooo you like 2K or you're hating 2K. Confusing.

Re: MVP 08

I play MVP on the PC and MLB2K8 is not on that platform. I love the graphics on the PC much better and the mods at MVPmods keep this game fresh.

Agreed 100%.

The Show is getting closer, but I doubt the next gens will ever have the customization ability that will allow the communities to do what they do with MVP pc. Stadiums, uniforms, rosters, oldtime teams, previous seasons (1956, 1861, 1964, 1878, etc...). I wish the next gens would provide open source or at least the ability to mod graphics, etc...but they don't and probably won't.

Nice to have so many options though. 2K8 is making strides...Brinkman is on year 2of his 3 year plan just like he did for MVP after the Triple Play series. This year will be better than last, but next year is really his do or die defining moment.

You may be right...you may be wrong...time will tell...

Re: MVP 08

These companies will not allow video game developers to give us the tools to infringe on their copyrights.

Better yet, it was be completely IDIOTIC for a developer to do this. They would immediately harm their sales for the subsequent year.

I stand by my comment.

Good for you...but it doesn't mean you are right. Files/data/code gets cracked all the time. There is no telling what people with the skills will be able to do in the future. I stand by my comment as well. 2K sports never dreamed of the things Finn is doing with their files.

No one knows. And if you do, you can make a whole lot of money betting the horses every day. Or picking the lotto numbers.

Bottom line? None of us knows "for sure". It's all opinion. We can only hope the games open up a bit in the future...whether through third party genius or otherwise.
