hot and cold zones?

When turning this option off in the options screen does that mean that each hitter now will be able to hit in any of the 9 hitting zones the same or does it mean that you just can't actual see the colored hitting zones but the hitting effects of them being there are the same? Dowie

I thought about this myself before, but I believe they are still there but you just cant see them. I'm not a 100% sure though.

I'm pretty sure they are still there, just visually off. When a pitcher makes a pitching mistake (usually me ) and the ball hits a particular zone, you'll see either the yellow X in the circle, a blue circle, greyed or empty circle or red circle. Personally, I turn as much off as possible to avoid cluttering the screen and make it as sim as possible.

Yea, they are still there but what it does is add a bit of excitement as you are not really sure where to throw your pitches. I've thrown a good down and out on some batters and boom! It's parked. Had to have hit his hot zone. I think it makes it more interesting to turn them off.

They're still there. I shut them off but scout the other team before the game and if I can remember spots to avoid and spots to hit on certain guys, so be it.

Also, if you listen Mike Krukow will give you some hints on where not to throw to a particular batter.

I think what's equally important is to learn what kinds of pitches certain batters struggle with regardless of where they land. For example, when Endy Chavez comes up, I give him nothing but curves and sliders and when Wright comes up I try not to give him anything low and away with any kind of velocity on it.

LOL, I learned that the hard way about wright today. I have a bad habit of throwing fastballs down and away to power hitters, well needless to say I gave up 2 homeruns to wright including a grand slam today.
