help--very frustrated

I don't think anyone can argue that I have spent months, and an incredible amout of time trying to figure out sliders (Dowie's) I have read everyone's threads in detail trying to figure out a solution. I love my version 5.0 ones EXCEPT, I REPEAT EXCEPT the hitting. I am now trying human at 25/0 and cpu at 50/0. I just can't seem to get the right balance. I am going to start tweaking the power sliders by +5 til I am happy. Hopefully I'm on the right track, but at this point I don't know. I love this game, but sometimes I wish the games weren't made with sliders, because I spend so much time thinking I can come up with the PERFECT SET. I want to start in on a dynasty, and enjoy it, but this slider testing is preventing me from doing so. Does anyone have a slider set that they love, and wouldn't think to change, because at this point I need to make up my mind and start playing the game, and not testing the game. Anyone feel my pain and frustration.Dowie

I understand your pain, I have tried all kinds of sliders as well as many sets that I have made myself and I feel like the perfect set must be out there somewhere, but we have to accept that finding it is not going to be an easy task. You've come closer to realistic games with you're sliders than most people do, and I'm sure you'll always feel like there is some way to improve them. Great work, and good luck finding an answer.

I felt your pain for a while, but then I just quit caring about the sliders and tried to enjoy the game. I usually pitch pretty well and most runs come off of home runs, but I don't really care about that anymore. Heck, in my last game the Braves scored 11 runs off of me in one inning, with two home runs and the rest being scored off of singles, doubles, and a couple of errors.

Dowie, you've done great work with sliders. You've made this game better for all of us. Best thing for you to do is get a job with EA and tell them what to do because sometimes I think the guys who create these games don't watch or play baseball!

Anyway, my advice to you is use sliders that are "anti-user" and "pro-cpu". In other words, make the game as hard for you as possible and make it as easy for the cpu. As you play the game more and more, you eventually become so good that the game becomes arcade like and not baseball. So go with tough sliders 0/0 human, 40/0 cpu, try the 6-4 view for more difficulty and enjoy! It's a fun game.
