Steal Delay

Hopefully I put this in the right place. I was wondering what everyone is using for stealing. User and CPU settings.

Currently I am using Nasa/Dowies with a change to CPU's delay.

USER/CPU throw speed: -9
USER/CPU throw acc: -11
User Runner Steal Speed: -2
CPU Runner Steal Speed: -4
User Runner Steal Delay: -11
CPU Runner Steal Delay: -1
CPU Steal Rate: 30

Anyways, I am stealing far to many bases. I understand I have a speedy team. Lou Brock, Scott Posednik, Jimmy Rollins, Ray Durham. I'm thinking I need to cut down my steal delay to -2. That's what I used to use.

Any Thoughts

Re: Steal Delay

I think that's what mine used to be set at when I played All-Star...(-4 delay and default at speed.

Check the replay though. Go in slow motion, and see if you runner takes off right after the pitch is released.

Also pitch speed, I would think, has to come into effect.

Re: Steal Delay

Don't quote me, but I believe pitch speed is strictly a visual effect and has nothing to do with the physics of the game. Anyways it's set at zero.

Hey, this is Dowie.....if you are still stealing far too many bases I would suggest that you don't touch steal delay for either you or cpu, and just keep tweaking the steal speeds for both the user and cpu until your happy. I agree stealing should be extremely difficult...this isn't little league with 12 year olds.

Re: Steal Delay

I will give that a try. I know Lou Brock does have a speed of 99, but he shouldn't be able to steal 2nd and 3rd off of any pitch and with a decent catcher.

I agree, I don't think it affects game physics, but if the pitch is actually taking a quarter of a second longer(in real time) to get to the plate, I would think it affects how much time a base stealer has.
