What does Variable “Stuff” do/mean?

Also, for Check Swing Frequency, what do the levels do for that?

Check swing ...most people have set between -28 and -25...it is the frequency in which the cpu swings (chases) pitches. Variable stuff means just that. Just like in real life..one day your pitcher has it...the next he doesn't last 2 innings, same with hitters.

The Check Swing Frequency relates to the number of times the game cuts to the first or thirdbase umpire signaling if the batter did or didn't check his swing. I have mine set on low because the cut scenes can be irratating.

I thought the check-swing was how often the batter is actually able to check his swing?

Isn't there a separate option for the cut-scenes? You can set it to three different settings, including never.
