Carew_29's SLIDERS: A Long Time Coming!

I've been meaning to put my sliders up for some time now, but I know how folks are...when they find a set that seemingly works, they ignore all of the rest. I was prompted to put mine up today be a member who asked what slider settings I was using.

The following have served me well...REAL well...as in over 400+ games---Dynasty as well as exhibition.

For the MOST part, I get the ULTIMATE REALISTIC games. Now I know a ton of people say realisitic...and some of these same folks call 15-12 scores, with 8 home runs hit and 40 basehits between both teams realistic...NOT!

These settings are about making the game CHALLENGING. I know at times we all want to win 9 out of every 10 games we play. My sliders are guaranteed to make that NOT to happen...lol

Honestly, once you get the hang of playing on the ALL STAR level, I'd say that out of every 15-20 games, you MAY have one certified blowout. And keep in mind, I don't sim any games at all.

GAMEPLAY OPTIONS:

Innings 9
Fielding: Manual
Batting View: Pitch 6/Bat 4
(for the ULTIMATE challenge in pitching...ESPECIALLY if you're someone who likes to pitch corners, but you claim you get no walks....when the strike zone is about half the size of your television screen (regular setting), that's NOT a challenge. Plus, it's ALWAYS better to pitch looking IN from the mound, and NOT from behind home plate).

Strike Zone: On
Hot/Cold Zones: On
Hitter's Eye: Off
Catch Circle Assist: On
Variable Strike Zone: On
Base Umpire Blown Calls: On
Pitch Cursor: Fade
Fielding Aid: On
Vector Line: Off
Throw Meter: Off
Player Names: Off
Player Icons: Off
Automatic Replay Frequency: Low
Check Swing Frequency: Low
Missed Swing Replays: On
INJURIES: On
ERRORS: On
DH Rule: AL Only
Batter Overlay: Statistics
Pickoff Returns: Manual
Variable "Stuff": On
Cooperstown Effect: Off
Controller Port 1 Vibration: On (some say 'off' for walks...and I can see that)

GAMEPLAY TUNING: (ALL STAR! ALL STAR! ALL STAR!)

User Pitch Meter Difficulty: -50
(definitely aids in walks...whoever said pitching is ALWAYS easy)?

So, are these for AllStar or MVP level?

You post that playing MVP after 15-20 games gets you used to it, but next the Gameplay Tunining you have All-Star plastered next to it. I am very interested to use these.

Re: Carew_29's SLIDERS: A Long Time Coming!

Thanks for posting these. The last set I used started out fine then went on a FAT A$$ losing streak (last place 8.5 games back). I lost interest in the game trying to find the best sliders out there for me. I'm glad there are a new set to try. I'm going to have to find an updated roster set and fire up the game again.

Re: Carew_29's SLIDERS @ GoldenstWarrior

You're welcome...By playing on the All Star setting...that alone MAKES one a better player...because you know if you dont PAY ATTENTION to how you pitch, many times the ball will wind up in the gap or worse yet, over the wall. lol

peace!

Re: Carew_29's SLIDERS @ montana2rice

You're welcome. As I mentioned, after playing over 400 games with virtually the entire slider set I posted...and my the OS member asking me to put my sliders up on this thread, I can say that mine have truly been tried, tested and found true. I'm sure that if you're really up for a challenging game...one thats heavily leans TOWARDS SIMULATION and NOT ARCADE....that you'll love the settings.

peace!

They look similar to jisitics, just harder....so I'm willing to give them a shot. Only thing that worries me is your injury sliders. I get plenty of injuries with it set at zero (including some season ending injuries), so not sure that is needed.

"They look similar to jisitics, just harder....so I'm willing to give them a shot."

Hey Nathan...to be honest...it IS harder....but for thing is for sure, playing on All Star MAKES one literally keep the ball down most times...as it says, "mistakes will be punished". I'd like to think that us SERIOUS baseball sim gamers WANT a game that challenges...instead of a home run romp

"Only thing that worries me is your injury sliders. I get plenty of injuries with it set at zero (including some season ending injuries), so not sure that is needed."

Hmmm....interesting...Like in the real major leagues, injuries are random and can happen on literally any kind of play---no matter how routine. How many times over the years have we seen a pitcher throw a pitch, then have to walk off the mound? Or a batter get hit with his own fouled off ball and have to leave the game? What I'm saying is like in the real majors, nothing is guaranteed. So...come on....be daring....lol

peace!
