Newbie questions

Hello there all

I am fairly new to MVP. Can someone explain to me what the numbers in the sliders actually do?? I guess I am not grasping the concept of them/

I am playing PRO right now. I am just trying to get a first season started. Do you play the whole season or do you SIM some??

I play 1 game every time through the rotation, but with a different pitcher every time. So I'll play with my #1 starter then sim #2,3,4,5,1 and play with my #2 starter, etc.
