Re: Seriously Need HELP

Sounds like you're a tad overmatched.

Go one difficulty level lower until you get better.

And, 5 HR in 7 games isn't too terrible.

Re: Seriously Need HELP

I take it that your either one of these...or both:

a) someone who always has the right-analog stick pointing up when your up to bat.
b) someone that always throws strikes, no matter what the count.

to fix your problem:

a) only hold up with your 3,4, and 5 hitters. Since those are your power hitters. For everyone else, dont even touch the right analog. Just press the swing button. You'll get more basehits and less homeruns (which will be more realistic)

b) when your ahead of the count (0-1, 0-2, 1-2, etc) throw some balls that might make them chase. For instance, you throw a curveball down and away for strike 2. Next try throwing the heat high and away, it will make them think it might be another curveball, but since its a fastball, theyll have a late swing which will result to in a strikeout or a soft pop fly.

hope this helps

Re: Seriously Need HELP

Here's a few hitting tips I tell my buds who ask about hitting and scoring runs on this game. Hopefully you find it helpful.

1. Don't swing for power unless it's a power hitter.

2. Don't swing for power or use the analog stick when you've got 2 strikes against you.

3. On the first pitch hold the analog stick toward your batter and look for a pitch inside to pull. If it's not on the inside, don't swing at all. For power hitters hold up and towards the batter.

4. Another important thing to do later in the game is don't swing at a pitch until the pitcher throws a strike. This is how I get a lot of walks which lead to runs in other games.

5. Don't be afraid to play small ball. Bunt the runner to 2nd if you have no outs in the inning and a big bat on deck. Don't underestimate the use of the squeeze play.

6. Take advantage on the basepaths. Hit-and-runs are always good to move runners around for an extra base with speedy runners. Say you have a man on 2nd and a ground ball is hit to the left side of the infield. Wait for the fielder to toss over to first then advance the runner to 3rd. Look for extra bases on deep fly balls.

7. If you have a runner on first or second, try to put the ball in right field.

8. Watch the pitcher's release point. As the game goes on, you should be able to read the pitches and draw more walks.

9. Don't swing for the fences if a player's in a slump. Go for line drives to the outfield to get him out of his funk.

10. Practice. I attribute my hitting success now to the hitting mini-game. Try it out.

Re: Seriously Need HELP

Thanks for the tips guys...

However, what I notice a lot of is that if I just use the swing button to hit, I get a LOT of hits driven up the middle, which usually results in only a single. I want my leadoff guys to get more extra base hits. A second thing is that I find that I drive too many pitches the other way (right hand batters hitting balls to the right side, vice versa for left handers). Any help on that?
