Lightbulb Welcome to Dream League

I'm looking for dedicated MVP 2005 gamers with XBOX Live. I'm looking for gamers who can play 3-5 games a week. My goal is to have every MLB team occupied in this league. This will take time. I will need everyone's help.*

Dream League uses League Daddy. This pay site will be our very own news site for our league: box scores, standings, team and league leaders, etc.

Dream League will be structured just like the MLB. American and National league divisions will be identical except for the AL West, which will have the NL Central's Brewers. This makes for 6 divisions with 5 teams. We will play a 51 game schedule: 4 games against 4 divisional teams, 2 games against 10 league teams, and 1 game against 15 apposing league teams. AL will have DH and NL will not.

We will be performing a fantasy draft. The Yahoo fantasy draft system will be used for this. Their automated system will make drafting as smooth and efficient as possible. We'll communicate heavily on a draft date and time. There are much less attractive alternatives for drafting.

If you want to join you need to first register with the forum site. Then under "Registration" be sure to post your personal info: Live Tag, Email, Aim, etc.

The inability to forecast the dedication of those who register will force me to evaluate everyone. This league will not fail because of people leaving, inactivity, etc. Come draft day, we should all have a good feel for each other. Play each other on LIVE and give scouting reports on those games. Use the forums for your suggestions. I will certainly need help. I will advertise what I'll need. Your participation will obviously mean alot.

From the time that you register to the start of the season, I will need for everyone to help recruit. Turn those mics on when you play. Chat gamers up about the league and refer them in. I also will be advertising this league at every forum possible. Propaganda for this league will spread across the net like wild fire.

We will have one of the few 30 team fantasy online leagues. I look forward to creating this.

Re: Welcome to Dream League

I think this is a great, ambitious idea, but I honestly don't see this league getting through a month, if it ever gets off the ground. I know how hard it is in a 32 team NFL 2k5 league to get all 32 players to finish their ONE game in one week, in a league that has been going on for a couple of seasons with all dedicated owners. While I would be happy to play 5 games a week, and could probably find time to do it, the likelyhood of my available times and my opponent's available times working out to be the same is nearly impossible.

If you are successful congrats, but don't get your hopes up too high.

Re: Welcome to Dream League

I know it can work. I play in a 16 team league that was put together in less than a week. 60% of the guys in the league could play 5-10 games a week. As of now, everyone has more than met their scheduled three. I know that time is on my side. Baseball hasn't even begun. I plan on investing 3-5 weeks toward building this league. I spent last night building the forum. Then on Wednesday night our League Daddy site will be up or at least bought. I'm looking for dedicated gamers. We will have every communication tool at our disposal: Forum, Aim, MSN, Email, EA messenger, Phone numbers, etc. This league will get done with the proper amount of work.

Here's the link again http://makephpbb.com/phpbb/index.php...3f760f85d60e69

I'm going to email to you as well.

Re: Welcome to Dream League

I want to make myself clear by saying that joining this league will cost you nothing. All expenses will be taken care of by Brown250 and myself. Want I d

What benefits LeagueDaddy does offer?

The main benefits are ...

Less work for the commissioner. One of the most time-consuming jobs for a commissioner is the constant updating of scores, standings and rankings. With LeagueDaddy, all scores, standings and stats are updated as soon as the team owner enters them.

Real-time updates. As a regular league member, there is no longer any waiting for the commish to add up and sort the stats or update the standings. As soon as your fellow league members enter game scores and stats, the are all there for everyone to see.

Customizability. The ability to customize your league is one of the primary goals. LeagueDaddy supports any number of teams, conferences, and/or divisions, custom teams, and custom stats.o ask of you is to help recruit online and in forums for dedicated gamers.

Actually that's not the most time-consuming part of a commish's job.
The hardest part is having people play their games, being in constand contact with all the owners, running the league etc..
Scripts like league daddy simply take care of the stats/scores part, it doesn't actually run the league for you. There are quite a few mvp leagues on leaguedaddy that are either failed due to lack of control/bad "commishing" (lol) or never got off the ground..

I'm actually writing my own scripts for a custom league, but I definitly don't have the time to run one, and I'll let a commish do that.

Anyway best of luck, 32 players is not an easy feat.

Re: Welcome to Dream League

The benefits of League Daddy in my last reply was from LD when I purchased it today. It also says "one of the most time consuming" so your last post was in vein.

The reason why this league will be successful is because I'm willing to invest in 3-5 weeks of recruiting alone. That time will be a trial run for those who register: play ranked games online with each other, posting, chatting, ideas, suggestions, etc. My goal is to find 30 dedicated gamers who want to make this league work, and I won't stop until I'm convinced that i do.

Re: Welcome to Dream League

Well I signed up. I can understand your skepticism, but why don't you just join? Worse thing that is going to happen is that you will find some guys who like playing the game of baseball. Even if the league flops, you still have won.
