RITC: Team East discussion

League Rules

Teams - Teams will be broken down into two teams of 16. There will be TEAM EAST and TEAM WEST. Players will be placed on teams by timezones to try and make scheduling fights easier.

League Overview - Each team will consist of 16 members. Each member drafts(see draft rules) 1 fighter in each weight class. Each fighter will fight 15 fights in each weight class. Everyone will fight every member of your team once in each weight class. Once the season ends and the scores (see scoring) are added up, the top point rated fighter in each weight class will battle the opposing teams top point fighter. So at the end of the season their will be 5 championship fights (one for each weight class). These championship fights will consist of 5 - 5 min rounds.

Draft - Team team will have its own separate draft. Round 1 will start with the heavy weight division and work its way down to the light weight division. Round 1 draft order will be determined by a random number generator located here http://www.random.org/ . The Admin of each team will give each member of its team a number. Then use the random number generator. Numbers that appear will correspond with the numbers given to the members. This will determine the first round draft order.

From round 2 to round 5. The rest of the draft will snake through. So who ever had first pick in round 1 will have last pick in round two. Then so on through the remaining 4 rounds.

Team Admins - Each team will have 1 admin to handle all the league duties. Such as Drafts, scheduling, problems & issues, etc. All concerns and questions should be sent to your Teams Admin. Any issues contact your team admin.

Championship Fights - Each weight division will have a championship ship between the top point scores from each team. They will be 5 - 5 min round fights.

Scheduling & League Length

  • League will last roughly 4 months.
  • Schedules will have you facing 1 opponent a week.
  • You will have 5 fights in that week. You fight that opponent in each weight class for that week.
  • So if each fight goes the full 15 min you are looking at a max play through time of 1hr 30min for all 5 of yall fights.
  • So you will face 4 opponents in a month.
  • That is 20 fights a month.
Example of a schedule and fights

Week 1 - Phobia vs Stumbleweed
We would fight our Heavy weight, Light heavy, Middle weight, Welter weight and Light weight fights in week 1.

Matches are fast so playing through all 5 fights in 1 sitting is not that hard considering like mentioning the max it can take is hour and a half. But fights can be broken down through out that week if need be.

Week 2 - Phobia vs Mgoblue
Same thing as above. This continues, so each week you face a new person off of OS.

Scoring System

KO/TKO/Submission
Winner - 4 points
Loser - 0 points

Unanimous Decision (All judges score same fighter)
Winner - 4 points
Loser - 1 point

Major decision (2 judges same fighter, 1 judge scores it draw)
Winner - 3 points
Loser - 1 point

Split Decision (2 judges same fighter, 1 judge other fighter)
Winner - 2 points
Loser - 1 point

Draw
Both fighters - 1 point

Surviving a match will result in a point win or lose.

Post-Fight outcome template
Schedules will have 1 person listed as who should submit the fight outcomes. This will be listed on the schedules for each week. This will be split 50/50 among everyone.

Everyone use this template to post your fight outcomes!! Most important things needed are WHO WON, HOW they won, if it goes to decision. I HAVE to know what kind of decision. Was it a major decision, Unanimous Decision, split decision or was it a draw.

Week 1 - Pappy vs Damien
HW - Mire won by KO(overhand right), 2nd round
LHW - Liddell won Split decision 28/27, 27/28, 29/27
MW - Leben won TKO(due to punches), 1st round
WW - Penn won Sub (triangle), 3rd round
LW - Sherk vs Huerta, Draw

Fight Rules

Sportsmanship is number 1 in the league. We are all here to have fun. Winning should not be your end all be all goal. Anyone can win a fight at any second. So crazy fast knockouts might happen, long drawn out decisions, big subs in the first round, etc. Lets all just experience this together in a fun filled friendly OS league. Follow these rules and everything should be fun for everyone.

Start of the first round
At the start of the first round. Coming out and touching gloves is mandatory. This is not required in any other round. In championship fights if it goes the full 5 rounds then a glove touch before the start of the 5th should happen.

Drops/Disconnects
We will be unable to predict how good the connections are going to be since the game is not out. I hope we won't have any issue with this.

Anyone caught disconnecting or dropping a game will be removed from league no questions asked. I EXPECT fair play, if you can't lose like a man then you won't be in this league.

Fighting games are tough to figure out a correct way to handle a disconnect. This will be updated with the help of the league members to figure out a fair way to handle such a incident.

Re: RITC: Team East discussion

I like everything but the special moves...i was playing my buddy and he kept spamming the superman/spin move and all it did was get him gassed quickly. i'm not saying I'm against 'sim', but I think playing sim will give a better shot of winning. I don't think I like the idea of having to play up to other people's standard's of what 'sim' is.

I see what you're driving at with those points, but I'm not sure that it's needed especially since we're not going to be fighting exactly like the real UFC counterparts anyway.

I'm not against playing in a non-spamming way - I just think having rules does more harm than good.

Re: RITC: Team East discussion

I support the "handicapping" special strikes 100%. Getting spammed on with Superman/Spinning Back got ridiculous when fighting friends.

If any of you want to go ahead and add me on 360, my GT is: Paralock. Look forward to fighting you the week of May 19.

Re: RITC: Team East discussion

Superman punch annoys the hell out of me. There's hardly any penalty to using it like there is to the High kicks. It's fast as hell, barely uses any stamina (stamina recovers too quickly and barely has any effect on your game), and has very little recovery time. It gets very annoying seeing a superman punch everytime I get a side kick or head kick blocked. Both of my brothers that played with me have done that... They figure out how to do it and then use it the whole fight. Got plenty of KOs on me too. It'd be alright if stamina actually mattered and wouldn't fully recover in 5 seconds.

Re: RITC: Team East discussion

Ok I will remove the special move rule. But I hope everyone here fights in a realistic manner. Gamey tactics are not something I want to see. Now I will agree that it is not a huge issue with them because like Allbthere mentioned. It drains stamina and there is a counter for everything in the game. They keep using it alot then a quick flick up on the right stick will bring them in the clinch everytime.

All I ask is people to fight realistic and not cheap.

EDIT: Hummmm seems like we getting more people on board with the limit of special moves. Maybe a vote of this from all 16 members would not be a bad idea.

At this moment it is 4-1 in favor of the special ability rule.

Re: RITC: Team East discussion

It's not all special moves like that, it's just the superman punch. That move is way overpowered. Maybe if there was some kind of penalty to using it. But it comes out at the speed of regular punches and you can just throw the punch, let your stamina refill in a second, throw another one, let your stamina refill. Just a very cheap and overpowered move.

Re: RITC: Team East discussion

I'm in favor of the superman punch rule, sorta. I would be pissed if somebody used it 10x per round and knocked me out with it, but I'm not gonna lie, I like to use it myself. I try to use it in moderation and when I think it's appropriate. I could see this being an issue but as long as we all try to play fair and not spam we shouldn't have a problem. BUT I'm sure that somewhere along the line someone in the league will complain because it was used more than they thought it should have been and in turn cost them the fight.
