My point is we can do this without making phobia or pappy do more work or invest more time in trying to make everyone happy. I don't see why people need to drop out. Aholbert and Extreme, COME BACK !!!!

They don't have to do anything.

Post the schedule...OS members coordinate with each other via pm...and then post the results. Done...it requires no work from anyone except member to member coordination.

Yeah i think Aholbert and Extreme should come back. I haven't even seen the schedule (where is it?) but it shouldn't matter. If your gone for a week and im scheduled to fight you i'll just skip ahead and fight someone else till you come back.

And i am VERY down for the idea of a TOURNAMENT at the end of the season. The dude with the most wins is seeded #1 and so on. That way we have regular season, playoffs, and then championship east vs west.

The reason why I think we should absolutely have a tournament at the end is for 2 reasons:

1. It gives the original members of the league who are getting destroyed a reason to keep playing (I most likely will be that guy...I picked my team for fun...not to win)

2. We will have drops. Period. Stuff comes up. And having a tournment will give an incentive for a new member to jump and keep playing midseason because he knows there is a point to it....the tourney at the end.

I like the idea of a tourney at the end. Gives everyone a reason to keep playing as it can be all about the seeding.

Re: RITC: Team East discussion

Where is this schedule that Extreme and aholbert are looking at? I've been looking around and I don't actually see one.

Anyway - the way I see it is a schedule isn't even really necessary.

As far as it goes, everyone fights everyone in their division once for each weight.

So why not just set a date and let people fight on their own schedule before that set date?

So if someone is leaving for a month, they can just fight before that and after that without having to worry about sticking to some specific "you fight so and so this week, so and so this week".

If player X happened to see that player Y is free and they want to fight all 5 matches, and then player X sees player Z is free and they decide to play their 5 matches so that player X has gone through 2 people in one day, why not let them? The way I see it is everyone just needs to be done by a specific date.

Or say Player A doesn't have a ton of time, but comes up with 20 minutes so he decides to play Player C because he was able to get in touch with him. So they finish their LHW fight, and it's one less fight they have to do later on. Instead of having to play just a specific person. That way a person could just fight whoever they happen to see online at the time, should they need to fight that person at a weight still.

It would make things pretty easy for everyone - as long as people are able to make the end date and don't leave everything until the last minute.

we are in complete agreement. That's why no one has to leave the league. The schedule is like a guidline.

This is how it's gonna go down...

Cain Velasquez vs. Andre Arlovski - This fight stays on the feet. Andre throws a few weak combos before getting destroyed with a barrage of kicks and punches by Velasquez. When you're dazed I'll shoot and take you to the ground. I'll pound you with elbows until the ref stops the fight in the second round.

Rashad Evans vs. Chuck Liddell - I'll do a lot of dancing and taunting with Sugar Shad early on. I'll keep my distance in the first round, being content to just pick my shots and move in and out. In the second round you'll throw a dumb superman punch and I'll connect with a right hook that drops you for the win.

Mike Swick vs. Josh Koscheck - You're gonna think you can bang with Kos and that's gonna be your downfall. Swick is gonna catch you slipping and knock you out 30 seconds into the first round.

Kendall Grove vs. Chris Leben - You're gonna keep coming forward and swinging wildly with Leben. I'll use Kendall's reach to pick you apart and work my Muay Thai game with the knees. I'll dominate this fight leaving Leben a bloody mess with cuts all over his face. Unanimous decision for me 30-27, 30-27, 30-26.

Kenny Florian vs. Spencer Fisher - You've got another dude who likes to bang, so I'll stay with you on the feet for a while. After I get bored of clinching with you and bombing you with knees and elbows, I'll take you down and run a jiu jitsu clinic. Kenny wins via triangle choke in the second round.

Pappy 5
Damien 0

Sorry to break the news to you.

how sweet it must be to live in la-la land =)

I don't understand the issue with regard to flex schedule either. It seems easy enough to post the results of your fights, or keep the results to ourselves until that week on the schedule and then post them. It doesn't seem like it should be that hard to put the points into a spread sheet, although maybe I'm missing something.

Re: RITC: Team East discussion

My problem is Flex always ends with certain people not getting any games in. Pappy should know this from APF. You will have a handful of guys knock out 8 to 10 games in a couple days. Then you have another handful of guys that only knock out 1 - 2 games in a couple weeks span. So you end up going through way more members being replaced and the ones that speed through it, end up sitting twittling their thumbs for weeks on end. By that point the league is dead, it happens with APF.

I have run a Madden 05 PC league for over 4 years and it was always fixed schedule. It made a world of a difference, we maybe dropped 1 or 2 guys in that 4 year span. Reason being is you know WHO you are playing that week, Life outside of the game is still easy to keep up with and the game, EVERYONE is at the same pace, EVERYONE finishes at the same time, League restarts with all the same people with no down time.

We can go to a flex schedule and I won't make a peep about it. But I will predict the future and say this won't last. I have seen it all to much. Flex always leads to the ones on all the time slamming a bunch of games out, and the ones who have obligations can't keep pace.

Also Allbthere has pretty much nailed what I had in mind. The weeks are set as a guide line. Everyone stays at the same pace. We have a finish line ahead of us, but if a couple people got something to go out of town. A simple PM is easy enough to send to me and yall can make it up in the middle of a week of one of the weeks ahead. It is a basic guide to keep everyone together.

But it is yall call. If flex is really what yall want then that is fine.

Edit: I also wanted to point out that the fixed schedule was to keep everyone on pace together. If someone has to go out of town for a week or so. It is nothing to lag behind a couple games cause it can be made up very quick. The main issue is so a select few people don't get wayy out in front. Keeping everyone together is key.
