I may have to drop as well, I didn't realize it would be this type of schedule, with having a new born I just don't have a ton of time at night and I work during the day. I figured we were doing one weight class then moving on to the next as originally planned out.

Sorry.

Damn I hope we don't start losing too many people. I'd hate to see this thing fall apart before it even starts because of scheduling.

Re: RITC: Team East discussion

What I seem to get from Phobia's posts is that he just wants this thing to last a while. I think that could still be done with a flexible schedule, but it would also allow people to play at a pace that works for them. With 32 people total, things are definitely gonna come up during the season. I know there's probably gonna be a point in a few weeks where I may have to dip out of town myself. Being able to knock out those games beforehand would definitely be helpful.

I think Phobia's already built the schedule where each of us is set to play someone each week. We could still use those 15 weeks as a way to establish where the season begins and ends. You'd just have to play all of your games within that time period. The only thing I'd suggest if we did this, is that you can only move on to a new opponent if you've played all 5 of your matches from your previous one.

I'm just trying to throw the idea out there because I really want this league to work out.

I agree, some flexibility is necessary. And i think this league has a TON of potential and im excited to get this going. Im sure Phobia would be ok with the flex scheduling if the majority agrees.

another thing. theres no way 5 fights could possibly take an hour and a half to play. I play the game almost everynight against my roommate and we can get around 10+ matches in around 30 minutes. Its an accelerated clock so each round is actually only around 2 minutes.

Re: RITC: Team East discussion

I don't get it. Lets say I was to fight Aholbert32, and it's supposed to be friday or whatever. He mssg's me and says he's leaving town on thursday, and suggests we get our matches in on tuesday and I agree.

With that scenario how would that affect anyone else in the league? we have our scheduel, but just work out with the other guy you're fighting in a given week to fight earlier or something if there will be a conflict - the scores are submitted as per usual. I thought the schudeul as more of a deadline to get the fights in, not as an absolutle 'you must fight during this exact time'.

Re: RITC: Team East discussion

As I have stated before, you have to have flex scheduling. Everyone should coordinate with whoever via PM on here and just play your games and then simply report it in the thread.

If an OS member was able to always find a member, he could theoretically get all his season in during a weekend.

There is no logical reason for a 4 month league. To be honest, I haven't even kept a sports game since the Genesis days past 4 months of release.

I tend to agree. Flex Scheduling is a godsend, especially when leagues are 10+ people who are already committed to things like school, work, family, friends etc.

Re: RITC: Team East discussion

In addition, I personally would make sure there is an incentive for people not to drop. I would do the round robin as planned, but use that as seeding for a 16 fighter tournament. Then each winner from east and west fight.

I know it is impossible to please everyone...but the biggest threat to leagues like this simply are dropouts (for scheduling, family, losing, etc...).

Flex scheduling would for sure alleviate some of this issue.

right, but this doesn't have to really be official - the members just work it out themselves - correct? We can see the whole scheduel, so it's easy to communicate in advance w/ your opponents if there's time issue's etc...

My point is we can do this without making phobia or pappy do more work or invest more time in trying to make everyone happy. I don't see why people need to drop out. Aholbert and Extreme, COME BACK !!!!
