149: Aldo/Koch, Bisping/Boetsch, Alves/Akiyama, Thiago Silva/Shogun, Kongo/Big Nog.

Both of those cards are ****ING STACKED. They would still be stacked if injuries took away 1 or 2 of those fights which is to be expected.

The good news is (barring injuries) the Oct/Nov/Dec PPVs should be stacked. This is the 153 card right now:

Featherweight José Aldo (c) vs Erik Koch
Middleweight Vitor Belfort vs Alan Belcher
Light Heavyweight Quinton Jackson vs Glover Teixeira
Welterweight Erick Silva vs Jon Fitch
Welterweight Demian Maia vs Rick Story

Thats a card I would buy in a heartbeat.
Agreed, 153 is absolutely stacked as of now. The Championship fight, a fight that could have championship implications, and two of the biggest hyped guys in the sport fighting plus one of the best jui-jitsu guys in the world.
The prelim card for that is very good too.

And also that Brazil card I've had marked. So we can only pray for limited injuries.

Also the Fox card should be pretty sick and of course they'll do something for the New Year's card
Wasnt the New Years card going to be Cain vs JDS?

EDIT- It is, Dana announced it at the post fight presser last night....

Four was the hardest one for me to judge and I gave that to Edgar.
I thought Edgar had 2-5, but could see giving round 3 or 4 to Benson.

BUT I actually would give one of those rounds a 10-10 which I wish we saw more of, why does one fighter HAVE to win EVERY round. When is the last time we saw a 10-10 round???

More importantly when I think about the fight as a whole, I give it to Edgar (I have no horse in this race, so I really don't care) can Benson really feel like he REALLY won the fight? Edgar lost hands down the first fight, but I was actually surprised thinking the same would happen, but he did better and I thought deserved to win.

Cerrone though stole the show I LOVE his fights!!!! At the same time, it's a lot like shogun, he just eats too many shots and doesn't have good head movement...this fight was like old WEC days where it was almost clockwork of him getting rocked very early on and recovering and winning. I think he can be a champion but only IF he really works on boxing head movement and slipping punches. When he backs up his chin is also straight up in the air, same as when he reaches with that right hand. That lead switch kick is money for him though, caught Siver with it, and clipped Diaz with it too (although it was mostly foot/toes)

Fun card.

Lol, apparently Jose Aldo made some interesting comments in this article

http://tatame.com.br/2012/08/20/UFC-...indo-nos-penas

Supposedly, the quotes translate out like this:

Quote:
(Edgar) has already mentioned dropping to featherweight, so I am really hoping that he does it so that these rumours end. He is very welcome in the weight class, so that we can expell him back to lightweight, or to bantamweight.

Sounds good to me. Frankie announced that he's officially dropping to 145 and that matchup makes a lot of sense.

I don't see why he needs to drop. I honestly thought he took that last fight for the belt, and besides Benson, who's 'too big' for him to handle? I don't think it's a good move for him. I like that he fights at his regular weight, I wish more people did.

He wasn't getting another shot at the belt, that's why he is dropping.
