Wondering what the UFC's future plans are for the fox shows. They potentially will run into the same issues in August when Stann/Lombard main event the Fox show. Eventually they will have to put a championship fight on Fox again to get the ratings up.
Do they not pay attention to events going on when they make these dates?

I think their hope is to put the FOX shows on the same nights as big boxing fights, like they did with the first card and the Pacquaio fight. Since their card is done before the boxing PPV starts they hope that the fight fans who are going to watch the boxing fight will tune into some UFC fights beforehand.

That dropoff is pretty stark though. It supposedly did the best numbers in the 18-34 demographic for the time period though.

Fox will still be happy because they were #1 in the key demos and thats what you sign the UFC for. Guys in their 50's arent watching MMA.

That makes sense to a degree. But if you aren't at a sports bar and grill, then what? We're still in a day and age w/ casual fans that it's not MMA, it's UFC, period.

They made a mistake by overestimating why Cain/JDS did so well. It had nothing to do with leading into the Pac fight. It had everything to do with it being a HW title fight, heavily promoted on Fox and in the Fall. Its seems like common sense but more ppl are in the house watching TV in November than in May on Cinco De Mayo.
