Fedor v. Rogers: Nov. 7 on CBS!

Did anyone catch the 30 min special on Showtime about this fight? I could have swore Rodgers kept saying he was 285. He made 2 or 3 statements to this effect. He actually weighed in at 264 and that's more like what i thought he weighed.

Anyhow, i'm just bringing this up because earlier in the thread i made the comment Fedor would be giving up 50 to 55 lbs and i was basing that off the special. There's really no need to cut weight for a weigh in at HW and i don't see him putting on 20 lbs in 1 day before the fight. I guess i just heard wrong.

Why not? Brock cuts down to 265 every fight. Rogers probably walks around at 285, gets down to 275 a week before the fight, and cuts down to 265. Fighters don't lose weight like they're on a diet, they deplete their bodies. Rogers will not be back up to 285 tonight but he'll be at least 275.

Yea, you may be right. I know most fighters at any weight class don't walk around at their fight weight. I don't know why i didn't think about that before i posted. But still, i think your closer to the truth with him walking in a 275 than 285.

275 sounds about right. I doubt he will put on 20 pounds in one day.

The HW limit is 265 in MMA. You cant weigh more than that so you have to cut.

me to, be great cause CBS would look silly promoting him like he's god. Oh, didn't know that. I guess i did hear right on the special, but yea i agree he'll be closer to 275 than 285.

I'll just drop a $5 bet and take the Rogers moneyline. If Rogers pulls off the huge upset and I lose on the other match, I would be kicking mself.

It usually is out of my range too. Bodog gives you 20 bucks to join so its really only 30. Plus I cleaned up last weekend with Football so its Bodog's money.
