The Official Draft Discussion Thread

So after reading about scouting and such on many other threads, I have came to a conclusion that a draft thread is needed. The purpose of this thread is to discuss strategies, problems, or just brag about your latest pick.

I know that in 2011, there were some problems with players taking a while to develop, and the top players in the draft being F or D pot. Anyone find a way to combat this?

If there is already a thread like this, mods feel free to merge it.

I'll be running a sim or two. Gonna post the best players I see. Maybe I'll go up to 2030.

Does anyone really care where I sent this from?

Already seen a franchise guy. 18 with a potential. He's a C already. And it's a VERY high A. Highest A in Padres organization.

Does anyone really care where I sent this from?

LF. Profiles as a DH though. Horrible speed and fielding. Also, the game has various levels of potential. There are about 8 per letter grade. If you sort by potential, you'll see guys ranked higher than others.

Re: The Official Draft Discussion Thread

I just snagged an A potential guy with the 20th pick in the first draft. I really drafted him blind, I didn't scout him I just remembered his name from bein at the top of the list.

One thing I would like to throw out there is there are some guys that you scout prior to the draft in your first season's draft. I've seen alot of people on here saying that the first draft is a crap shoot because none of the players you scout are there, but this isn't true. I had probably around half of the guys I scouted in my first draft.

Re: The Official Draft Discussion Thread

The 2012 draft contains both players you can scout AND players you couldn't ("scouted" in 2011).

The guy I posted about earlier won ROY in 2019 with 16 HR and a .250 BA. Hit .275 in 2020 with 28 bombs. Kid's only 22.

Other interesting tidbits: I'm thinking that Mike Stanton might just break the all time HR record. And after Craig Kimbrel's 62 save 2020, I have no doubt that he'll end up the all time saves leader.

Does anyone really care where I sent this from?
