I find that lower rated pitchers tend to miss in the strikezone and thusly get hit harder. Now if you take a bunch of pitches or swing at pitches you shouldn't. and their confidence in those pitches and overall confidence grows, then they can really get in to a groove as far as spotting their pitches. Which happens IRL, see Jerome Williams throwing a 3 hit shutout the other day.

There are far too many factors and the ratings system is far to complex to prove much with a youtube video, like the ones posted here. This isn't Madden we're dealing with.
The problem though is that I see guys like cliff lee, cc sabathia, and other aces tending to miss a lot as well, allowing them to have multiple hits made against them. The only difference I see in terms of ratings and how the cpu pitches with certain pitchers is that the game decides that when cc throws a fastball down the middle, the user should get weak or okay contact against him even though the pci was at the middle of the ball and that the user should get great contact when hitting against a poor pitcher.

We must be playing different games. Guys who you expect to paint corners on me, tend to do it the most.

Honestly, I am not sure where you are coming from. The title of this thread, that Player ratings don't matter, is absolutely misleading and false.

As you said in one of your youtube comments, maybe 2k12 is more your speed. .

Okay? Anyways, i am not the only person who is experiencing this issue with the game. I have a couple friends with the show and they also complain about the same pitching issue with the game.

I'll end it with this. I don't believe you or your friends have a great grasp of the nuances of the game of baseball, the rules of probabilities and statistics nor a grasp of the ratings/CPU AI/pitcher confidence systems and how they influence what happens in the game. I think you and your friends are looking at this from a very simplistic and not well thought out angle.

Either way, the notion that ratings in the game don't matter is ridiculous to the point it's not even arguable.

If you want to be some sort of troof chaser/internet personality with this game feel free. I've said my part.

So we don't understand baseball because we are sick of see guys with very low ratings pitching as though they are aces in the MLB? HUH, I'm not going to bother anymore for you guys are just going to get me banned for trying to make an argument. I'll just let the videos I made speak for themselves at this point.

I said you don't understand the nuances of baseball, which is quite apparent. I never said you didn't understand baseball. Completely seperate arguments. There was a laundry list of other things I stated you don't have a grasp of. I'll stand by that as well.

I noticed you also really have nothing to say about the title of this thread being false and misleading for the sake of effect.

bk, i thought you were leaving? I mean.. ejecting.

Stop calling the kid a 'troof chaser'. He made a video showing what he thought was a problem. It was his OPINION. No one ever said you have to agree with him, but instead of making your point, you take it out on the kid and try to make him leave the boards, saying the same thing OVER AND OVER again. What a joke.

Now, ratings do matter. It's what the game is based off of. But, the point of the difference between Star/Random is not as large as it should be, and thats where I agree with the OP. Nomo/Authentic stated it perfectly and have proven the points that need to be proved.

Finally, some common sense. Probably the first post in about 2 pages that is worth reading.

His motivation is clear. He is a wannabe troof chaser. A development I'll never get. If you don't like my opinions or posts, simply skip them or put me on ignore. If you start threads like this and post your videos, you put yourself out there for rebuttal. If you don't want that, don't post.
