Re: PLAYER BATTING STANCES THAT NEED TO BE UPDATED FOR MLB 13

I feel like The Show has drastically improved the past two years as far as stances go. They used to be way off, but now most look perfect.

The one glaring one for me this year is A-Rod. Granted, it's better than his previous stances, but it still needs improvement. I like that they finally made it a slow paced type of stance, after years of him looking like he was standing and moving his bat at a Gary Sheffield type of speed (hyperbole). His posture is finally correct and every thing looks good...except his bat. A-Rod's bat is basically on his shoulder this year, but in real life he holds it pretty high. The stance would be dead-on perfect if they just fixed the height of his bat postion. What is good though, is that when you do the stride, the bat becomes perfect. The position that he holds it at through the stride is where it should be pre-stride.

One more thing. Do you notice how with Pedroia's stance, he does that little look thing after each pitch in which he doesn't swing? He moves toward the ball. Jeter needs something similar. Jeter really gets into each pitch and moves toward it with his entire body. But in the game, his swing doesn't have any of that, and it really is off-putting.

There needs to be more stances with the foot twist (see Pujols), and the toe tap (see Victor Martinez).

Then, a lot of the stances in this game are good but have an incorrect follow through (like Granderson needs a 2 hand, Freddie Freeman needs a 2 hand, etc).

I also don't like how almost everyone with a high leg kick, looks like they are rocking their whole body back when they lift there leg, everyone who has a high leg kick should get one like Jeter, where it is quick, and their whole body doesn't move.

Player: Cliff Lee

Correction: The way his motion starts is correct, however the leg kick is off. Refer to the Rich Hill MLB 11 motion for how his leg should look.

Chris Iannetta has an open stance, not closed in the game.

MARK TRUMBO AND NEIL WALKER are not swapped. MARK TRUMBO, NEIL WALKER, AND CLINT BARMES are switched. The "Clint Barmes" stance should be Neil Walker... he does the twitching like Walker does. Trumbo should have the "Walker" stance, Barmes should have the "Trumbo" stance, and Walker should have the "Barmes" stance.

Noboby wants to include Barmes in this swap.. but the twitching is most clearly Neil Walker... he does that every at bat, there is no way it wouldn't have been included.

Also... I think the generic stances need an update. Before the pitch.. if you press X to take the bat off the should and do the little deal over the plate... in any stance that is crouched... they stand up to do that... then oddly crouch back down. Just let them do the bat movement while down.

NEIL WALKER's STANCE is the "CLINT BARMES" stance... NOT TRUMBO! The stance is great... just needs fixed.
These were designed last year before walker started doing that flapping elbow thing. Not only that but barmes arms are way to far behind his body to be Walker. Look up last years stances and you will see what I'm saying. To drive my point home look at trumbos stance when animated (swinging). It has a step before the swing...just like neil walker should have.

I get everyone thinks they know better about these things but I promise you 10 people can look at a stance and give you 10 different answers on who has a better stance.

In Summation Barmes is not Walkers stance, Tabata has never had a crouch or been that open. There is a reason why those of us who were responsible for the Pirates stances for the opening day set didn't use Barmes for Walker. Ok, I'm done and am going into hiding again.

Jason Kipnis

He starts with the bottom of the bat directly towards the outfield, with the bat barrel parallel to the ground and when pitcher starts his motion, he raises the bat into hitting position.

Joey Votto (batting stance) is much more crouched and uses a high leg kick (David Wright’s high leg kick in 12 looks the closest in the game), he also finishes randomly at times, but finishes with 2 hands more often than one. I believe his hands should be higher in the game too. When he hits a homerun he flips the bat a half a turn to the ground from his follow through, the best I can describe it is if he were holding a sword in his follow through he immediately flips the sword to make the tip of the sword pierce the ground .

Jay Bruce (batting stance) should have a high leg kick (Eric Chavez’s leg kick looks the most similar of stances in the game) and finish with 2 hands, plus a little more bat movement.

Bandon Phillips (batting stance) should crouch more and have something similar to a toe tap timing mechanism, he lifts his front foot's heel off the ground but his toes don’t leave the ground.

Drew Stubbs (batting stance) crouch more, should finish with 2 hands, and stride similar to how Danny Valencia does in the game

Reds Sox fans will know better than me but it seems like Kevin Youkilis finishes with 2 hands

Giancarlo "Mike" Stanton. He's not as crouched anymore. His bat has a subtle roll just above his shoulder. His front foot is almost even with his back, but not quite, it's positioned just a little back.
