Freezing issues after the new patch (Exhibition, Franchise and RTTS)

It would be helpful if you could state SPECIFICS as to what you are doing that is resulting in a freeze.

What menu's were you in?
Was this a new or pre-existing franchise save file?
Etc.

If you have saved or autosaved your game since downloading the patch, the workaround is unlikely to work for you. 1. Quit The Show and go to the XMB menu in your PS3. 2. Go to the "Game" sub-menu (the one you go to to start The Show), and scroll up to the "Game Data Utility" folder 3. Find the file named "MLB 12 The Show Additional Content" 4. Press Triangle and Delete the file 5. Start The Show, and load up any RTTS, franchise, or Season mode file you wish to keep. You will be prompted regularly to download the patch throughout the remaining steps. Do NOT download the patch. For convenience, disconnect your PS3 from the internet. 6. Complete ALL the games in April, either by playing them, simming them, whatever. This can be done at any pace, and you can save your game at any time. 7. Use the "Sim to next day" feature to ensure that "today" is actually May 1st. It's not enough to just finish the last game on April 30th, you have to actually advance into May. 8. Save your game. 9. Download the patch. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ If your game file met the conditions at the top of the page, then until further notice, you should not: - View the schedule for the month of April, for one of the "at-risk" teams defined at the top. - View any box scores for any games that occured in the month of April - Use the "Cloud" feature or transfer any "at-risk" (see above) files between the Vita and PS3.

From what I'm reading, most are happening in existing franchises. I'm not downloading this patch until I see how it will be fixed. I have done a ton of rating edits to my franchise.

It appears that NOT everyone continuing a Franchise is experiencing the freezing issue. Considering this, it is crucial that people having this issue go into great details specifying the circumstances surrounding it.

To add to the below, please add whether or not the freezes are happening during an existing or new Franchise, whether or not the freezes happen while trying to load from the main menu; freezing while trying to ENTER a game, freezing trying to sim forward, or freezing by pressing "View(ing) Today's Games."

I cant 100& confirm this is patch related but before the patch today I never had a problem in this game with freezing during games but since I dl'd it I have had 2 exhibition games freeze.

-One on a ground rule double. the ball bounced over the fence and the game froze.

- The second one was on a play where I was throwing a pitch and my pitcher froze in his throwing animation. the ball never came out and all I heard was the sound effect of the ball hitting the glove and the game just sat there on that screen for a few mins before I turned it off (had to use the ps3 button; the controller turn off wouldnt come up). The crowd could still be heard on both freezes.

I am going to delete the patch and re download later. They started doing some work on the wires near my house so I had no internet when I left for work this afternoon.

Where did it freeze: Online OS League Games

When did it freeze: 2 times, both times it happened when my team (Angels) were up to bat.

1st game I was the home team and we got through 4 Detroit batters with no freeze. Then I come to bat with my leadoff hitter, get a hit and the game freezes. League game 2 of the series is on hold until commish restarts so we go on to game 3.

2nd game (game 3 of the series), we are now in Detroit. 1st inning lead off hitter gets a hit, LF fields the balls to throw to the cut-off man and bam, frozen again.

Edit: 1st game was a day game, second game was a night/overcast game

I tried loading up the two franchise files I had stored locally, plus one that was still on the Cloud (from the earlier CPU vs CPU testing) and tried simming for awhile...none of them froze. IIRC, both were using the default rosters so this freeze issue may end up being related to OSFM or other custom rosters somehow. Unfortunately I don't have an OSFM franchise saved from before the patch - I would only ask that folks keep an eye out for that possibility.

Tried viewing today's games and just normal simming ahead with the same results. There's definitely an issue if this many are having problems, but I can't recreate it.

It keeps happening to me when I try to load an existing franchise save file. It'll load, I'll push circle, and when it tries to transition from the load screen to my franchise it freezes.

I can delete this patch, correct?

So did you have a OS roster or default?

If I start a new franchise post patch download (havent DL'd yet) will I face freezing issues or is it just continuing a franchise released before the patch. It now is sounding like there could be ingame issues as well
