Re: Road to the Show Improvement Ideas

Please don't forget what makes this mode work. Adding a bunch of off field non sense and obligations will kill the flow. One thing that keeps me playing this game in RTTS is the fact that I can continue "playing" the game and moving quickly if I want to.

1) Allow me to pick my training drills and add a few more. There is an opportunity to have training be fun instead of just work (fielder reaction and throw decision training). Having an option to just go hit batting practice and pick a pitch to work against at any time would be nice. I want feel like I'm moving city to city and being able to spend time hitting balls in the stadiums would be a nice touch.

With the addition of the true analog and having to swing inside or outside. A option to go to the cage and work on inside or outside pitches would be awesome. As a lefty I can rip inside pitches for serious power but as a righty the act of moving the stick inside feels weird. So being able to go to the cage and work on that motion would be nice. You can dig deeper by having these types of trainings effect your hot cold zones at the plate.

2) Fix the trades it can be a game killer. If I pick my team at the start of my RTTS the default should be a 4 or 5 year lockdown. Let me establish myself then have the computer ask me if its ok the "shop" me around. Or if I'm not performing they can release me, with the option to return to training camp to play my way back on or let another team pick me up.

6 season of MLB service is a lot currently before you can pick your team. I would assume a lot of people lose interest once traded. It killed my game in 2010 I had really established a warm feeling for my team after being to the playoffs a few years and suddenly I got moved to Pittsburgh and had no way out...I played 2 seasons there and just couldnt continue after that lol.

3) Yes to trophy case ! any thing you can add that represents our hardwork and accomplishments is never a bad thing.

4) Team specific records to achieve

5) As a power hitter I would really like a tale of the tape in my locker room for every stadium I have played in, and the pitcher I homered off of. If you could add the graphic from the HRD showing the path of those homeruns (or last 10 and always the longest one) that would be sick too.

Anything that is boastful in our favor is the direction you wanna go. Anything you can add that makes us feel good or outlines what we have done is what attaches you to your career and your player. Ie team specific records, trophies, more locker room stats and graphs on performance and stats.

Of everything you asked for, I have to agree with this one the most. I watch every Giants game of the season, and have watched every game for many years. It's quite often that you hear X player is approaching the team record for XYZ statistic, paired with a little graphic. I think this type of thing could add a lot of depth. I'm sure getting major statistical records for all 30 teams could be quite the undertaking, but hey, you guys are pros...what are they paying you for anyway?

Have an option to be a low ball, high ball, pull, or oppo hitter in addition to the hot zones so if a ball goes through there and the timing is good you will not miss.

Re: Road to the Show Improvement Ideas

I for one like RTTS for the mode allowing to actually "play" quickly. So I understand how all those off-the-field elements can be detrimental to some.

Though I don't care about dating a hot chick off the field in the game (that would only matter to me if it happens IRL), I think some none-baseball elements, such as clubhouse interactions, can add to the atmosphere in this mode.

I kinda see that these issues can be approached separately.

RTTS, being a game of weaving a story of how a player reaches the Show, can have those external, RPG-like elements. I think that's not going to be fluff if done well and focused on baseball elements (rather than emulating the life of Derek Jeter).

One thing I'd like to see in future is a sort of player lock-in mode, in which you only control one (or more if possible) of the players on the team, and play only part of the game you'd like to (hitting, defense, baserunning, pitching, etc., just as you can skip any right now). That satisfies those who just want to concentrate on (certain parts of) playing on-field elements quickly. But I guess that's not really related to RTTS...

I have not looked through all the pages but I think you should be able to play through a few major superstars total career then be able to take off from the year it is and do what you want like get traded and such

What about notes from your teammates. For example what the pitcher looks like so far, or what the strikezone is like so far. It could be the screen that comes up before your next at bat. There could be info that the ump is giving the outside corner to the pitcher, so you know not to take on stuff close. That would be stuff that either you would see in real life sitting on the bench, or talk about with your teammates and coaches while waiting to hit. Also more stats on situation specifics. How you face up against this pitcher, with RISP, or maybe in this stadium. Thanks.

Definitely agree. I just switch hit because I'd rather have an advantage on inside pitches than outside pitches.

Advancement goals should be abolished completely. Is it fair to have the best OPS, BA, and ISO but be benched because there were not enough runners on base when you came up? So Showalter ends up benching my SS but plays me every day anyway, but I'm only allowed to strike out 6 times in the next 8 series. Riiiight...

At least scale advancement goals to at bats rather than role.

Please tone down baserunner speed so I don't have to set it to 0 in the sliders. Any player with 75 speed will steal 3rd before the throw even reaches the 3rd baseman. Also tone down fielder speed. The Pitcher shouldn't cover the same distance as my SS with 96 speed in less time.

in the minors, i would ask the coach for a better lineup spot and i would get it, but once i simulate one game, im back in the 7th or 8th spot. then i would ask him again, he'd say yes, and the whole thing would happen all over again

Re: Road to the Show Improvement Ideas

Great Game as always every year.

I forgot how fun it was to play RTTS as a Starting Pitcher and work your way up the ladder.

One thing that would help the game immensely is to have side bullpen sessions for pitchers. It's tough to work on one pitch with training points and have to wait until your next appearance to see what the added ability did to that pitch.

The pitches obviously break differently and it's unsettling to find out in your next appearance that the break you currently use for a slider now hangs that pitch right in the middle of the plate instead of on the corner.

Having an optional bullpen session between starts or appearances to see how training points have affected your pitches would be a great addition to the game.

Keep up the great work
