Along with that I think it would be cool to have an option after your RTTS career as a player ends to come back and manage.
I would love this. I know it might be hard but not neccesarily. Just play from the following year. It would be hard.

I would love to be a manager after retired.

I really wish there was a manager career mode. Kind of like franchise but you get graded on how you do with your team. Give pep talks and all that anddifferent teams can hire or fire you.

Re: Road to the Show Improvement Ideas

Finer Options for Shortening Game Time

This isn't not just relevant for RTTS, but it's probably most relevant. But in short, I like an option to fast forward the game on a pitch-by-pitch basis. Like when you press R2 and d-pad right (when pausing is allowed), then it skips (and perhaps sim) the game by one pitch. Haven't given much thought on how to deal with the cases when the ball is put in play and not, but with some clever scheme I feel this can be done.

In general I like that the game allows to slow down as much as I like, since I think baseball is best played on a very slow pace. However, due to time constraints doing so isn't always possible without sacrificing other aspects of game/life.

I know there are quite a few options to speed up the game already (e.g., fast forward, sim game, etc.), but I actually do not like skipping and/or simming games in general. That's partly because I like the game engine so much that I want most of my game results to come out of that engine instead of sim engine, but also because the strategic aspect of baseball is often best enjoyed in the context of pitch-by-pitch situations (which makes "generated counts" a rather poor substitute).

For example, when I'm on base trying to steal, I want to see every pitch on the at-bat to see when best to take off. But when it's not a steal situation, then I may want to skip pitches till something happens.

This may be much more difficult to implement than it sounds, but if it's well done, then I feel it is going to be a very good way to play the full game without sitting through a lot of things that some people don't care about. We should remember that the most quoted criticism of baseball is too long too boring since nothing appears to be happening.... if the game can handle this better, it will be the sweetest thing since krispy kreme!!

1) Play RTTS until you hit a day/week where your team is deadset on trading you. Try a few reloads just to see if it's a one-off deal. If you're clearly GOING to be traded no matter how many times you reload...

2) Load your save. Immediately go to settings. General. Scan down to injuries and change it to Manual.

3) Go to your disabled list. Find your player under the "Manage Injuries" option. Since the trade obsession usually happens at the deadline, figure out how many days you've got until August 1st. So, if you're three days away from the deadline...

4) Give your player a stomach ache. I'm serious. Give him a stomach ache that lasts 4 to 6 days.

5) Go back to "play next appearance." Since your meaningless stomach ache counts as an injury, the game CANNOT trade you. The trade deadline passes. Go back to options and set injuries to normal.

6) Continue playing for the team you want to play for.

I have no qualms with bending the rules, especially if it just lets me enjoy the game. I really appreciate the help and suggestion on this. It worked great and now I can still play for the team I want! Thanks a lot man

Agreed. I've played this game for since '09, and I've never thought of that solution. It will make my next RttS guy a lot nicer to play with.

That is a good idea! I love how sometimes you get swapped like 6 times before you hit the majors lol. Recently I got signed to a 16 million dollar/year long term deal and traded the next day to a terrible team. I was just like seriously?

One thing that I would love to see in the next Road to the show is a case that has all your awards and achievements in. I know that is nothing big but how cool would it be just to look back and see your MVP awards, 500 career home run ball etc.

Re: Road to the Show Improvement Ideas

Love the Show, love RTTS, have a few suggestions, here's one:

As a non-speedster, the RTTS manager is WAY too touchy about stolen bases. If you get caught once, you get the red light, and the next time you try to steal you get benched. It would be great if that was fixed, but if the manager is a hardcase, I can live with that.

But when that same guy (theoretically) sends you on a hit and run, and then benches you for it (even if you actually successfully steal the base, or so I've heard) if the batter misses, that's got to be fixed. Getting thrown out on a hit and run is not the runner's fault, it's the batter's. Whatever is done with goals, advancement, etc., this little flaw should be fixed: don't blame the runner for a botched hit and run.

I like all of this, and would add that it's unrealistic for a hit-and-run to always be on the first pitch of the at-bat. I would love to have it open-ended, in the sense that the coach signals for a hit-and-run and it's up to you as a runner to pick your pitch to run on. And on the flip-side, when you're the batter, you can either have it so that the runner will go on whatever pitch they feel like, or have the instructions from the coach be a little more specific, like "Hit-and-run is on when you're ahead in the count." That way you know when it's coming so you can protect the plate better.
