Re: CPU vs CPU fans unite.

i too loved the strat o matic baseball on my PC but the graphics were horrible. i loved the fact of using the online dice roll option and making all the managerial decisions. i still hope mlb the show would go in this direction somewhat if ihad this game with a strat o matic format and these graphics i would be in baseball heaven. im really surprised someone hasnt tried to go in that direction.

anyway if CPU VS CPU = MOM THEN COUNT ME AS WELL!

I will be doing a best out of 5 CPU VS CPU Series it will be AL VS NL then whatever wins will be my Franchise Team but I will watch The CPU Play the games I just need to get a realistic set of CPU VS CPU Sliders. Iam getting my Playstation 3 later tonight so I have it in my other home.

I figure players who actually play the game get no-hitters more frequently, but a CPU no-hitter seems pretty rare (as it should be).

I still like my franchise Mariners much more than the real life M's :P

BTW anyone know a good way to record games internally to upload to Youtube (not just highlights)? Had to use the ol' iPad for this.
Very nice! Thanks for posting this. I've seen that animation quite a bit where the 2nd baseman can quite come up with a ball in the hole there.

Nice to see the manager turn to the closer once the no hit bid went awry.

Were you using any particular sliders or default?

Re: CPU vs CPU fans unite.

Hey guys, first post here at Operation Sports. Just picked up my PS3 last week, specifically for MLB The Show.

I'm a long time OOTP geek, infatuated by baseball simulations and statistics. Until now, no console game could give me what I needed out of a baseball game. Then I got a first-hand look at The Show and I was hooked!

I'll strictly be an MOM, cpu vs cpu player and I can't wait to play out my franchise with the amazing graphical presentation that The Show provides. I'm glad to read there are several others just like me.

Hope you enjoy the game as much as everyone else - I think it is by FAR the most realistic, enjoyable sports game I've ever played.

Oh, and ralphieboy, I just use defaults (except for camera angle of course). So far all results are very realistic - I have plenty of 1-0 games as well as 9-7 games and everything in between. Batting averages, ERA's, and other stats are all on par (so far). Glad you liked the video

Re: CPU vs CPU fans unite.

I wish there was some way that we each could pick one team, and then do CPU vs CPU online in one universal league.
Maybe agree on rules, settings. And then be able to watch our teams on a nightly basis online. Without fear of someone cheesing or cheating.
Is there a way to do this?

Imagine if online, the system would just auto-play it's games in real time. All you'd be able to do was watch depending on game time.

That would be a lot of fun, but probably not enough interest. Besides, for me at least, one of the reasons I like Spectator Mode is that I play at my own pace. If I were in an online league I would feel a sense of obligation to match game times, etc. - though I really like the idea of competing for trades, drafting and scouting, free agents, etc.

Depending on how it's implemented, it may be possible to have your online league play *completed in background.* I think that's shadia's point.

Basically, PS3s hosted by SCEA runs scheduled CPU vs. CPU games. You can either watch it real time or just have them run without you doing anything. Maybe the server keeps the replays/digest of the game so that you can watch later? You get the idea...

That would be ideal for guys who want to manage GM-aspects, but don't want to/have time to actually play for an hour a game.

Currently, I think you can listen to SportsCast radio between two online players in real time (at least you could in 11). It would be interesting if you can watch such a game in the regular gameplay mode (or some derivative of it....)

Re: CPU vs CPU fans unite.

Nomo, I'm a bit confused. Maybe because I do everything offline, and am ignorant of the entire online thing, but am I reading you to say that leagues CAN be set up online, and that we have the option of playing or watching?
But then you're saying that unplayed games are essentially "Simmed" for the process of keeping the League moving.
And the "Simmed" games cannot be viewed either live or in some sort of replay mode?

God, that's so close to what I had in mind.
BTW, in response to the guy who said this idea wouldnt be popular enough.. Maybe not for SCEA, but all I would care about is 30 guys.
And to do it right, it would HAVE to have every team in the League.
