So did Jacoby Ellsbury slip over 2nd(watch the foot over the bag) or dodge the umpire(pretty obvious by his motion, right)???

Either way, it screwed me out of a base runner...

Yea it's him dodging the ump. That is the new collision detection feature this year.

Try moving a fielder into the basepath on like a foulball and you'll see the runner attempt to avoid him.

That's a dodge, and it's really annoying when a fielder runs in your way, you dodge him, and then get thrown out on a close play. I wish the fielder interference rule was in the game, because I can see this being exploited in co-op play or something.

I remember in RTTS I accidentally abused the new system. I play 2B and some guy in the minors round first and started heading to second and I was making my way over to cover the base, we just happened to run the same way and I blocked him the whole way. I got to the bag first and threw down the tag with plenty of time to spare.
