2.I feel like I'm robbing the CPU if I trade for either player even if I give up some A potentials...

What do you guys think?
Anytime I see this I go over and change their trade block to remove unrealistic ones. Cano and Hellickson i always remove. Lester I have let stay to see if they move him for something realistic. The Cards are 1 game up on me in early May and keep trying to put Beltran, Waynewright and Loshe and i keep going in and pulling them off the block.

On a side note I just scored big time after the Tigers put Peralta on waivers and i grabbed him to spell Cozart and provide a solid bat off the bench against righties. Allows me to send Valdez down as he was hitting .106

12-17 29 games through with the Nationals. The strength of my team is definitely the pitching staff. I've struggled hitting the ball. I really want to make a trade for a stud 1st baseman but am trying to be realistic.

Horrible trade in my mets franchise.......... The brewers traded zack grienke (sp) and n. Aoki for Francisco lindor of the Indians. In my mind this is a total steal for the tribe

Lindor was the Indian's first round pick last year. I'm guessing he's A potential. I've seen much worse trades.

Well I was really enjoying my Orioles franchise...but somehow the save got corrupted.

Should I start another Orioles chise or go with a different team this time around?

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

The Miami Marlins ended April with a thud. Losing 7 of their last 10 games.

While the pitching staff has been the glue the offense has been the bane of this team in the first month of the season. Other than Logan Morrison, Hanley, Bonifacio, and Gaby Sanchez the team has been a rut at the plate.

The Marlins however have started May with a bang. Going into SF to start a 9 game road trip the Marlins have reeled off 2 straight wins. A 2-1 thriller in game one and a 9-6 slub fest in game 2.

Logan Morrison, and Michael Stanton each hit 2 HR's. Morrison also added a base loaded double that brought in 3 runs as well. LoMo ended the night 4-5 with 5 RBI's and 2 HR's. Gaby Sanchez also stayed red hot going 4/5.

Michael Stanton who has been a rut for what has seemed months (even though we are only a month into the season) just unloaded last night hitting two rockets. Logan Morrison hit a 458 foot bomb into the bay to start the fireworks in the 2nd inning. Jose Reyes got off the shnide with a base hit and SB. Only Ramirez did not join the hit parade by striking out 3 times.

The Marlins look for the sweep tonight as Josh Johnson takes the hill going for his second straight win.

Have the bat's finally been ignited? Let's hope so as the Marlins only sit 2.5 games out of first in the tightly contested NL East race.

A full around the league reprot will come this evening with league leaders and standings via OS tables.

Below are Aprils teams stat's.

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

I have started the season 0-3 with my M's and for some reason I can't pull out a win against the A's. I had a 4-3 lead going into the ninth only to have League give up a three-run bomb to Kurt Suzuki. This after Felix pitched a gem in game 1 only to have the bullpen lose the game. Hopefully I can salvage one win tonight!

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

I recently finished April with the Marlins, as well. I'll post my stats up so we can compare, but I see Reyes is hitting about the same for you. Stanton is around .300 with I believe 4HR for me, but Bonifacio hasn't hit well at all. Good thing though is when he does get a hit he's almost a lock to steal 2B. And oh yeah, Infante? Hitting somewhere around .420 for me! Have no idea why because I certainly don't have any others hitting that well, but he's been otherwordly so far.

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

So because my Orioles file corrupted I've decided to start a new Padres chise...

A couple questions for you guys, since Petco is such a pitchers ballpark I was thinking I dont need to be as concerned with having the best pitching staff, and I dont think I should be looking for just HR hitters in the lineup since their power will get negated by the home ball park...so Iw as thinking about stacking my lineup with guys who are going to probably hit 15-20 HRs a year, but are double machines....what do y'all think?

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

Bengerman's Phillies Franchise

Record: 69-66 (3rd place)
Standings:
1st: Marlins (--)
2nd: Nationals (6.5)
3rd: Phillies (13.5)
4th: Mets (21.0)
5th: Braves (25.0)

Notes:
  • Not a bad year for the Phils, but theres almost no way that I make the playoffs at this point. The Nationals and Marlins are just on an absolute tear.
  • Division Leaders are as followed. Cardinals (9.5 GA), Diamondbacks (0.5 GA of Giants), Nats (WC, 3.5 GA), Red Sox (2.5 GA of Yanks), Tigers (9.0 GA), Rangers (8.5 GA), Yankees (WC, 2.0 GA)
  • Braun leads the NL in BA (.324), and Hamilton in the AL (.318).
  • Votto/Stanton lead the NL in HR's (31 a piece), Bautista in the AL (38).
  • Granderson has 99 RBIs, Stanton has 98.
  • As for the Phillies...
  • Utley is hitting .283 upon his return, but his slugging is a lowly .403.
  • Howard has been a beast of late, hitting .269 with 18 HR's (only played about 2/3rds of season, maybe less).
  • The Phillies are 4th in ERA, with 3 starters below 3.00 and Hamels at 3.03.
  • However, they are 23rd in runs scored.
  • Since I traded him, J-Roll is hitting .304, with two HR's for Boston.
