Rookies in later years of Franchise

I've noticed it takes rookies until they are 27 or 28 to make an impact after the 3rd or 4th year in Franchise mode. One guy I have is 29 and has only played 2 years in the MLB(B overall), so I can just be cheap and offer him a 4 year deal and dump him when he's 33, so I don't have to pay a somewhat larger figure once he has 6 years of service, cause he'll be washed up. Anyone else notice this?

yeah. in rtts ive had someone win rookie of the year at the age of 32

Yeah, because RTTS and franchise mode are definitly the same thing.

Same AI, logic, etc. Only difference is you're controlling a team rather than a player in franchise.
