No Patch for Awhile?

According to the MLB 10:The Show blog, the patch won't be worked on until the devs are off from their break (e.g. end of March). I guess that means no patch until end of April, at the earliest?

Re: No Patch for Awhile?

I think everything I've learned about Project Management and Software Testing in college has been basically thrown out the window on this game. For some reason, what college teaches you about Software and Information Systems, and what most of the real world teaches you, is that this would be unacceptable. You do not release a bugged product and then skip-to-my-lou out of town. I love the game and love the SCEA guys, but this really takes the cake to me.

I understand they worked a long time. But so do many other people. So do people all over the world, and they don't get breaks right after completing a task, especially if that task had large, gaping holes in it.

Couldn't agree w/ you more!

Like you said, I love the game and appreciate all the SCEA guys do and they deserve a break after they release a complete game. At the moment the game has some gaping holes that did not exist in previous entries and only after those things get fixed should they be allowed a break.

I am not saying that the whole team should come back, but some people should be brought back to clean up the project.

Well said UGA. Where I come from, those are the rules as well. And if anyone has any alternative opinions on the matter, then that's cool too. Although I think some have forgotten that they are the paying customers and not the dev team's fan club, which is totally fine by me. Fanboys make forums entertaining, but as a paying customer, it's funny to see the $ start flowing and the dev team leaving.

Re: No Patch for Awhile?

That's not cool, the best time to take a vacation is after the first patch. Well, first patch after regular people like us played and identified these issues that they didn't see. Oh well, it's not like the game is unplayable, hopefully they come back strong.

Re: No Patch for Awhile?

agreed.
this has nothing to do with them not deserving a break.
they do.
but you really shouldn't leave a product that needs fixing in this state.
simple as that.
there should be people in place to continue the work on the bugs/glitches.

Re: No Patch for Awhile?

Haha, I am a sales rep. The month or so after something ships is the LAST time to take a break.

Seriously, the Show is awesome, but how they are anything but sick to their stomach's with embarrassment over some of the simplest glitches is beyond me.
