From All-Star back to Vet

Okay When I first decided to jump on All-Star Mode I was pretty ok. Now iI have probaly played a good 60 games on All-star and well I went on a huge drought. I could not win at all, the cpu kept coming back. I couldn't hit the the ball sometime. You know I was getting pretty upset so I decided to start like my 10th Franchise which I am not going to quit, with the Cubs. I also, jump back to Vet, and now im having no problems at all. I think the AI is fairly competive and I can pull out a few wins without the cheating comeback on All-Star mode. Right now im loving it, but I will jump back on All-Star mode after the All-Star break is that a good idea or no ?

I think this is a fairly good idea. I have started 2 All-star franchises with the A's and the Dodgers. In my A's 'chise, I started out winning 4 in a row, lost 2 from comeback wins by the CPU then right now I'm on a 2 game winning streak. So I'm 6-2 with the A's.

Meanwhile in my Dodgers 'chise, I'm 8-6 but on a 3-game losing streak. I'm also thinking of going down to veteran. Here's one thing though, I feel more pressured to win with the Dodgers because they are doing good in real life and they're my team, whereas I don't get pissed when I lose with the A's. Just my 2 cents, but I may also try to go down to veteran until I get comfortable. Good Luck!

Same thing happened to me. But I started 8-0 w/ the Reds on vet and was tempted to bump up to AllStar. But i held tight and sure enough lost 3 of the next 4.

The problem is the sample size. I mean its not like I was 60-0! Look at the Padres right now in real life, they won 10 in a row. So a regular streak is not unrealistic.

Re: From All-Star back to Vet

i too am on VET level....played all star for a while but the difficulty level is jacked up this year so i dropped to VET usin Psycho's sliders and fellas, they are playin one beautiful game. i am 5-4 in my Cubbies 'chise and havin a blast. just played a game against the Brewers and won 2-1- rallied for my two runs in the 8th and held on for the win...it was a great pitching duel and some late heroics. love the VET level...love it. the CPU can still put a hurtin on ya so you still have to pay attention....good stuff. LOVE THE SHOW!!

I don't see any cheating comeback on All Star. I've had games where the team comes from behind and beats me, but that just happens, in real life too.

Re: From All-Star back to Vet

Yesterday I made the switch myself. I was still getting spanked. That's when I realized that it's not too difficult, it's just that I don't apply myself enough. I'm looking for a walk through the park when in this year's game that just won't happen 90% of the time. There are some games on either Vet or AS that are a walk in the park but most the time, no matter the level, the CPU is gonna give you a game. Personally, I'd rather take some beats on All Star, but feel proud when I win. On Vet it's lose-lose for me, I win...I was supposed to, it's only Vet. If I lose then I really get a sour taste from the game and start spiralling outta control. So I've decided All Star it is. I will raise my game and my concentration and start owning the CPU. It's starting to get personal now. My biggest issue is patience at the plate and I guess pitching-wise it's losing my release point and not finding it until it's too late. I will persevere, I will overcome. I tell my girlfriend all the time that this is more than a game. It's a test of your intellect and cojones. And dammit I've got cojones!!!!!!!!

Re: From All-Star back to Vet

I feel the exact opposite as far as dropping down to vet goes. I had been on vet since I got the game and just recently made the leap to all-star and am enjoying it far more. I'm 8-2 in my new chise and have won a few of those games with comebacks by myself so I really don't see that "comeback" argument being valid at all.

The CPU is going to beat you this year, you just got to own up to it. The CPU is also going to win in different ways and not always score first and keep the lead until the end to get the W.

Re: From All-Star back to Vet

i am gonna rock the VET level for the first half of the season and then rock ALL-STAR for the second half of my Cubbies 'chise....i actually have some battles against the CPU on VET....no joke. you lose concetration or get cocky and you WILL get owned on VET.

Re: From All-Star back to Vet

I'm taking my lumps on All-Star 14-27 with the Orioles, but it's the most fun I've had since MVP 05. My ptiching is horrible and it shows. I like the challenge. I play on default All-Star with pitching speed (-2) and I can't ask for more. I played on Vet and pitching was just to easy for me. I'm not a big slider guy so this is working for me. I've got so much young pitching in AAA and double AA that I expect huge things in September when I make the call. I can't wait.

Re: From All-Star back to Vet

After 3-16 with the Mariners on All-Star I restarted with the Cubs and am 7-1 so far on the same sliders and difficulty. All games have been close expect two.

Right now my pitching is amazing and that is the biggest difference as with the Mariners my team ERA was well above 5 while with the Cubs right now is below 3. Hitting is also much better.

I thought about going down to Veteran with the Mariners but didn't want to as I felt pretty comfortable on All-Star even with some frustrations. But they were good frustrations like I left a pitch hanging and got burned or took a terrible swing and popped up.

With that said I can be it can be as easily 1-7 because of the closeness of these games.
