Really the only way is through ratings. For starting rotations it basically goes straight off overall rating. You can sacrifice in a few areas without losing too much IMO. For example, with Smoltz and the Red Sox, while I was testing, I reduced Stamina and Pitching Clutch mainly. He pitched as would be expected for a guy coming off of injury.

His is an easier one, however, since he's not projected to pitch a full year or anything, but that's the jist. Also You can fool with BB/9 and inidividual pitch control ratings as they play off eachother (Meaning you can reduce one or the other with limited hit to performance but a slight knock to overall rating).

It really depends on the pitcher. You have some wiggle room for almost every pitcher, but in a different category...lol. It's a bit of trial and error.

Hope that helps a tad.

LOL, if I were Russell I would respond to all this by saying:

"Quit busting my friggin aggets man, I'm trying to enjoy some oat soda."

I just played a game in my Franchise, it loaded to the schedule, and then crashed to the XMB. Gotta love these patches.

Don't get me wrong, this is the BEST videogame I've ever played. BUT how on earth could a simple thing like a lineup glitch, a 40-man roster/DL issue still exist in a game in 2009? I had Microleague Baseball in the mid-80's and back then, the lineups for each team were correct from game-to-game.

I could honestly care less about the stats glitch (I'm only playing 1 season) but simple things that are basic programming issues are inexcuseable in this day and age!!!

This game has players smiling at each other when they come to bat, realistic running motions (the best ever), managers arguing with the umpire about a close play at 2nd, but the computer can't figure out that pitchers shouldn't bat 2nd in the lineup???

How do I get around these issues? I'm using Knight's OSFM v2 rosters and I refused to download the patch due to all the problems. Should I stay away from the patch? Will that corrupt my roster file?
Maybe. If you've already started your franchise.

If you haven't, you'll be fine, except for the missing post game highlights.

It's been almost 3 hours since Russell stated "an hour or two."

I mean come on man, people are waiting on his every word on here.

Let's get this show on the road.

Has Russell or anyone else come back to face the music on this patch? To acknowledge they know it caused more problems than it fixed? And/or what they are doing to rectify it?

Considering what amazing communication we've had from the SCEA guys I bet there's a reason it's taken so much longer...they're probably frantically scrambling to see what happened, because A)they care more about their consumer and B) they're dead set on fixing whatever they can, and C) they take pride in their work, and these are major issues people are reporting.

No, I really doubt that. If D) is indeed the case they will probably find a way to un-patch it (if possible). If all these crashes are truly happening there's no way they'd let that stand. Ever. I don't believe that for a second.
