Re: **Perfect Sliders 2012** (HOF)

Pretty sure i will be using these sliders when OSFM drop.
Getting some really good games with them on All Star with only 2 tweaks made.(Timing +1, Pitch Speed -1)
I also knocked Wind down a click as i was seeing a lot of 10mph+ winds in or out in my test franchise...maybe this is realistic i don't know but i just prefer it to be slightly less.

Top Notch set though....

Hey Psycho, been using your sliders for years. Like you, I hate tweaking too much and prefer to stay as close to default as possible. I always play 20-30 games out of the box on default and when your sliders come out I see them and always think "Yes! Exactly!" It's like you read my mind every year, and this year is no different...so thanks. We even play similar styles (I use AS zone hitting, HOF pulse pitching, auto fielding manual throws).

But my question is this: In my default games I've seen too many players hit hard line drives to the wall, usually down the LF and RF lines, that wind up as singles because the super throwing ability of the outfielders. Do your sliders correct this? They seem like they will, and I will find out for myself after a few games. Just asking.

Why is it that it seems like everyone on their sliders have Human Contact and Human Power and Human Solid hits all LOWERED off of the default? Most seem to be around 4 when default is 5. Shouldn't it be raised?

I have had this game for every year for the last 4 years and I'm playing on Zone hitting and never really had a problem w/ "realistic" homer run totals so it's been a bit frustrating. I have seen the hit variety on singles and doubles but I've barely been close to hitting a homer.

Thoughts?
I, too have been hitting on AS default (zone) using the Angels AND Cubs and here's what I have been seeing re: homers...

With the Angels, I've hit a bunch. Thru 6 games I hit 10 team HRs. Pujols has 5 of those, and I even hit a GS with Kendrick on a contact swing. Feels like too many homers, but...

As the Cubs (same season, same sliders), I have 1 team homer thru 6 games. Soriano finally hit one in the 6th game.

Angels, obviously, have a better offense than the Cubs, so I think alot is dependent on the team's ability rather than sliders, which is nice to see. A bigger sample size wouldn't hurt, either. I wouldn't worry (yet) about a 5-game power outage.

Not sure why others lower power but its perfectly fine on default, stick with it, i know its a cliché but patience! It will happen when you stop trying to force it

Not seen any wind problems myself with the 4 i have it on but thats really a personal preference as opposed to a performance slider.

Thanks for your comments.

Yes (i would say that wouldnt i lol) but yes, they do, OF'ers no longer all have cannons (some still do, rightly). The doubles/XBH down the lines are most certainly there on this set.

Spot on, good teams will hit more bombs obviously, but so can other teams, they tend to come in bunches just like real life, you can hit none for 2 or 3 games then hit 4 in a game, 2 in the next, 0 in the next, then 3, then 1 etc, theres no pattern nor should there be.

Thanks for the continued feedback people, glad you are all enjoying.

I knocked it down to 4 because you have it at default on the 1st page?
But it seems we are on the same page..

Though I have still not mastered the skill of patience i have greatly improved and this is the main thing you MUST have in order to start hitting successfully. Loving the sliders Psycho I have seen a good variety of hits and I am actually hitting home runs. I bumped pitch speed back up to 5 and man I didn't realize how much of a difference it makes. I am giong to stick with it and see if I can do just as good at 5 as I was doing at 4.

Correct...patience - no slider set can give you that trait/skill!

Patience is key, and you will be rewarded.

Re: **Perfect Sliders 2012** (HOF)

I began my Franchise last night and decided to give these sliders a go, since they weren't too drastic and looked like mainly the things I had planned on changing on my own.
I think the only tweeks I made were injuries at default and bumping Human consistency to Default.......I use Meter and I do not always hit it perfect, so that seems to provide enough variance on it's own.
Last year I could never find a "sweet spot" and was stuck in slider hell.....so I'm hopeful that will not be the case this year.

First game last night I won 6-4 in my Boston Franchise.
12 hits (2 Doubles, 1 Home Run) 2 walks 6 k's

Nearly all that was off the bullpen. Verlander held me to 4 hits and 1 unearned run in 6 1/3. I felt like it was a small miracle when I manufactured a run and took a 1-0 lead lol.
Lester gave up a 2 run HR to give the lead back (He went 6 ip 4 hits 4 walks 3 K's).

Like I said I went to town on their bullpen, if not for a running mess up in the 9th I may have been able to score more. After pushing the lead to 4 I tried to get through the 9th with Albers......That didn't work too well, but I went to Aceves and held on for the win.

Just wanted to share what I thought to be an encouraging start....I'm hopeful there will continue to be variance in the games and close to realism when it comes to stats. I'll update with progress, some numbers once I get through 10 games.

Re: **Perfect Sliders 2012** (HOF)

Played with these sliders for a few games. The main problem I am having (and this is with all sliders) is my pitching is too good. The computer will only score 1-3 runs most games. I also was having trouble getting any offense generated but your sliders seemed to have fixed that as last game I had 11 hits and 5 runs.

What would your suggestion be to make the computer generate some more offense against me?
