Re: OSFM Trade Deadline Roster Set

So I'm guessing this will be released a day or so after the deadline happens?

Re: OSFM Trade Deadline Roster Set

Awesome! Thank you Ridin...I've been waiting for somebody credible to do an update, and figured you'd be doing a Trade Deadline set. If I had the time like I used to I'd be on top of all transactions and roster moves, but sadly I don't, and I don't trust most of these guys releasing "updated" sets. My rosters, based off of the OSFM Opening Day set is updated through May, but I lost track after that, and haven't been able to catch up. Thankfully as opposed to years past I can just re-import all of my own CAPS and whatnot.

Just the thought of being able to play with a reliable, dependable, up to date set again is almost orgasmic. Thanks Ridin...you are the man!

Dear Ridin,

Please note that the trade between Miami and Detroit actually involved six players and not five.

1. From Detroit to Miami
RHP Jacob Turner
C Rob Brantly
LHP Brian Flynn

2. From Miami to Detroit
2B Omar Infante
RHP Anibal Sanchez
C Brad Davis

Brad Davis is not included in the original report of the trade.

Can't wait for these! This trade deadline's gonna be pretty exciting with the two extra wild cards and more teams looking to buy and contend.

Ridin -- you are my go-to roster guy, and I feel perfectly legitimate adopting your rosters and not touching a thing. Yet, I would be grateful if you would consider, and not be offended by, my humble opinion:

Travis Snider should have A potential and real, existing, big-league pow-pow (especially against righties). And Tribe draft-pick Tyler Naquin, who Baseball America called the best pure hitter in the 2012 draft, should have at least B, if not A potential.

And with all roster sets -- why are young relievers' potential universally capped so low? To me, the sky seems to be the limit for guys like Stephen Prior from the M's, and Addison Reed from the Sox. Is the Braves' Vizcaino really the only young middle-reliever with rockstar potential?

In the end though, I love what you do -- you make my summers so much more enjoyable and I thank you.

Potential is not something that can be edited, you're pretty much stuck with what's given in regards to SCEA players (personal info is grayed out). However, for CAPs (including SCEA CAPs included in official roster updates) there are a couple of ways to switch potential:

1. Copy the player over one with a higher potential
2. Keep on downloading official roster updates until the player has a higher potential (worked in '11, not sure if it works in '12)

You're pretty much SOL on Snider and Reed, but for the other two guys you can change their potential using one of those two options, or use the Pryor from the original OSFM set, v3 (pitch edits), Scott's roster, etc. since he has B+ potential in those and a better face (I know since its my CAP). Not sure about the other guy though.

The best thing about this game is that you can edit players yourself, if you don't agree with how someone is rated, there is nothing stopping you from changing it in your own roster.

Oh really? I didn't know that -- welp, then I hope SCEA is reading this. Thanks for the clarification -- I appreciate it.
