Something funny I noticed. On MLB gameday, they use MLB The Show, and they're using MLB12, but it has the wrong Jays logo in it which makes no sense since MLB12 has the current logo

You know the pen is an issue when you're desperate for Santos to return.

Re: Toronto Blue Jays 2012

Thank goodness for Edwin Encarnacion! I never thought i'd type that but he's been the most consistent hitter on this team while the pitching has been a bit up and down at least it's a lot more consistent than the crap hitting we've been witnessing. The Jays actually have a pretty good record considering all the inconsistency to start the season.

Let's hope the hitting comes around at a more consistent level.

Cordero is awful. Probably gonna need to have a closer by committee bit till Santos is back.

Yeah, I don't trust Cordero with anything less than a 2 run lead.

Re: Toronto Blue Jays 2012

After a month the team looks solidly below where they were expected to be. I feel like some players might have been a bit infatuated with the hype coming out of spring training. It'll be interesting to see where this team is at by the end of May.

Re: Toronto Blue Jays 2012

One thing that's infuriating me is that just about every hitter looks timid at the plate. There's no real aggression early in the count which was their strength the last couple years. Whenever this team has tried the patient hitting approach they can't do a damn thing with the baseball.

Tonight was a perfect example of that IMO. The only guy who is NATURALLY a "take first pitch" type of hitter is Brett Lawrie as he's shown that approach when he came up last year. The rest of the lineup? They need to get their act together and be more aggressive at the plate.

On the flip side, i'm glad to see Kyle Drabek fulfilling the promise that was hyped up a couple years ago.

You're right about the lack of aggression at the plate. The approach seems to have them all out of whack and over-thinking things. As a result, the hitters are having a hard time getting in position to hit a pitch they want.

Impossible not to get excited watching Brett Lawrie play the game. I rewatched the 9th inning from last night. I am super fired up and it is 6 in the damn morning.
