What's your issue with Minaya? A lot of the players we have now are because of him.

Re: 2008 New York Mets Discussion

Here's a question for Mets fans that I've wondered about, but not being in NY don't have a pulse on: how secure is Willie's job? I mean, if the team comes out and picks up where it left off last year and starts 3-10 or something, does he get fired? I don't think you can blame solely him for their debacle last year, but it is rare to see a manager retained after finishing like that, especially in NY.

I think he's on a short leash this year, especially since he & Omar don't see eye to eye... and basically losing control of the clubhouse doesn't help..

We won't see a collapse like that for another 40 years. It was freak. The constant turnover in the managerial position is part of the reason the team was **** in the 90s.

I don't think this is the case at all. Willie did a great job with the team in '06... and I don't expect a repeat of '07.

I don't think anyone does.

He couldn't get his team to win down the stretch, and players went to Minaya with any issues before talking to Willie.. doesn't give me any confidence that he will be around for a while if things go bad...

Re: 2008 New York Mets Discussion

Didn't we throw out an idea for an OS day at Shea? It's now or never fellas... after this year, it'll have to be:

OS Day at Citi Field.

Doesn't have quite the same ring to it.
