2008 Cleveland Indians

It will be a great season defending the Central and hopefully we can make a run at the World Series. GO INDIANS.

Re: 2008 Cleveland Indians

well I dont know what to say to that... lol I Love the tribe though, but Detroit prooobably has the AL Central. we can only hope Maglio gets injured D Train isnt effective in the AL and Pronk returns to his former self. Theres still some serious IF's for the tribe as well, like IF fausto can stay the way he is
It would also be nice if Andy Marte stopped eating Dognuts and started playing better ball like he was suppposed to. Casey Blake is very replacable and wants too much money

Re: 2008 Cleveland Indians

Casey Blake wants $6.9 Million to be a super utility fielder...unreal. Someone needs to tell Blake that he isn't worth that...he'll be lucky to get 5 million.

As far as season predicitions go, I think the Tribe still has a good chance to win the AL Central. They still have the best pitching staff in the ALC by far with CC, Carmona, Bryd, Westbrook, Laffey, Miller and even Lee if he can get back to being himself. We still have no leftfielder and a Michaels/Delstiffo doesn't really excite me...I would love to see Choo in LF if he is healthy. Gutz, Garko, AstroCab all need to have solid years in order to be major WS contenders. If Pronk returns to his old amazing hitting self, we might have the best team in the AL. Victor is always a solid canidate for a silver slugger and his D is really getting better. Peralta...he had an awesome post season, hopefully it carries into this season as well. 3rd, it all depends on Marte to me, if he can finally realize his potiental, then we are completely set at 3rd. If Blake is back at third...God help me because he is the MOST FRUSTRATING PLAYER on this team. I've never seen someone who plays such average D and be so below average at the plate get so many chances to be a core player.

It'll be an interesting year for sure.

I think that they need to resign Lofton. I would rather have someone who hits .300+ than two guys who will hit .250 and have 15 homeruns. It does not make sense to me but it seems as if Lofton would be the best player to have in left. What do you guys think? We also need to resign C.C.

Re: 2008 Cleveland Indians

Now we have a slim to none chance of resigning C.C. because he will probably want as much as Santana and the Indians can't offer him that. I think we trade him now and get 4 or 5 players that can make an impact. That would be better than just losing him at the end of the year but you know Shapiro and he will probably just keep him until the year is over.

Re: 2008 Cleveland Indians

They also signed Jorge Julio to a one year contract and he could fill the last spot in the bullpen. He pitched for the Rockies last season and was a key part in their success down the stretch.

It's funny, it seems like the Tribe is a forgotten team this year. Some people are saying that the Tribe aren't good enough to make the postseason this year.....I love flying under the radar..

i agree with you if he tries to hold the tribe hostage we have to dump him and get something in return.
