Well it's the new year so hopefully this can become the Official 2008 Cubs thread. Got a big pick up with Fukudome, So here's to a 2008 World Series run.

I am also glad that we have no Prior........ How long before Wood finds his way out the door.

I think Wood will be okay. And if he is as good this year as I am hoping we will have a great bullpen for 7,8,9 Howry, Marmol, and Wood closing. I think Marmol will be one of the best closers in the game one day but he needs a couple of years. In the meantime Wood has big game experience for that role.

Add me as well. I'm ready for pitchers and catchers to report.

I think Marmol will be ready by the end of the year if not earlier to close games. His stuff is disgusting and he got beat up enough in some tough games down the stretch to get him mentally tough.

The thing that worries me now, outside of the fact that they are the Cubs, is the starting pitching. Z is a head case and probably won't win until May. We'll need Lilly to duplicate what he did last year and hope Dempster can win 10-15 games.

I also want them to move Soriano down in the lineup. The guy strikes out waaaaayyy to much to be in the leadoff position. That's my only problem with Piniella.

One other thing I wanted to see the Cubs do in addition to getting rid of Prior is to also get rid of Ryan Dumpster. Dempster sucks as a closer and a starter. Just give him his walking papers and be done with him.
