2007 Oakland Athletics

Can't believe this hasn't been made yet. Oh well, time to get on the same page A's fans...

Season Update

We've been on a hot streak, and are currently 38-31 and 2nd in the AL West after bouncing around the Reds last night 6-1. Next game is tonight in Oakland at 7 PM, again against the Reds, with Chad Gaudin (6-1) going up against Homer Bailey (1-0).

Notable Stats
  • As a team, we're currently 1st in the AL in ERA, BAA, OPS, and WHIP.
  • Dan Haren is definitely in the AL Cy Young race thus far, with an 8-2 record and leading the MLB in ERA.
  • Nick Swisher leads the team in BA with .295, while Eric Chavez leads the team in HR with 12. Shannon Stewart, newly acquired this offseason, is also leading the team in runs and stolen bases.
Notable Injuries
  • Mike Piazza (15 day DL, shoulder)
  • Justin Duchscherer (15 day DL, hip)
  • Rich Harden (15 day DL, shoulder)
  • Huston Street (15 day DL, ulnar nerve)
  • Milton Bradley (15 day DL, calf)
Other Important News for 6/19

  • Rich Harden looked sharp in a simulated game yesterday, striking out 3 of 6 batters. He's hoping to make his return (possibly to the bullpen) soon.
  • The A's agreed to terms with the club's top pick James Simmons (P out of Cal-Riverside) this morning.

Re: 2007 Oakland Athletics

Great way to bounce back from a losing streak with a series win against the Yanks, scoring 18 runs in the final two games.

42-39, with DiNardo (3-4, 2.47 ERA) starting against the Blue Jays tonight.
