2007 San Francisco Giants

The Reds are my #1 team but I live in the Bay Area and the Giants are my #2. Let's see how Bonds, Zito, and Co. can do. Let's go Gigantes!

The Giants really interest me on how the group is going to perform this whole season. I've stated it before, but you can't really get a good prediction on how this team is going to do because of the question marks on this team.

How will Cain and Lowry do?
Is Klesko still capable of putting up the seasons he had between 1995-2002?
Will Dave Roberts stay healthy for a full season again?
Will Barry Bonds stay healthy?
Will age be a factor for this lineup?

Just to name a few.

Actually, I have better questions.

Will the Giants lose 100 games?
Will they finish ahead of last?
Will they put up a fight against the Dodgers?

Bring it on Dodger blue! What is the point even if LA wins the divsion they will choke in the playoffs.

Klesko isn't anywhere near capable of those types of numbers anymore. He's been proving that the last 3 years.

Matt Cain is a stud. I think you'll see 15-17 wins out of him.

Giants in the playoffs though?? Randy Winn better come out hot and Benitez better be automatic.

LA needs to dig deep if they want the division title. It isn't going to be easy this year.

And what's this marketing about Co-division champions? Last I checked, the Padres earned the honors by taking the series against the Dodgers. There's no such thing as Co-Division champs when you lose the season series against a team you managed to have the same record in the end of the season.

Take your Wild Card Title and like it.

Yeah, probably because he isn't the primary 1B.

I hate to be arrogant, but who's the main threat other than Arizona? LA has arguably the most youth and talent in the division.

SF? Too old, an over-the-hill team. SD? Anemic offense, an offense lacking both power and consistent hitting. Colorado? Improving, but yet suspect pitching.

Anemic offense based on the past three years, yes.

I know we don't have that typical #4 hitter, but neither do the Dodgers. Jeff Kent? Probably 20 Home runs, but nothing more. Andre Ethier? He has to adjust to a league that pretty much figured him out towards the end of the season? Wilson Betemit? Has as much consistency as the Padres hitters in RISP. Nomar Garciaparra?

Don't take the Padres lightly. Even with their inferior offense they still managed to top your team the past two seasons. However, keep up the talk. It makes it that much sweeter if the Padres win the division due to the incompetence of this division.
