Any other champs out there?

I like the Miles deal. Welcome back Eli Marrero. Kip Wells, there is someone I'd like you to meet. We call him the pitcher whisperer.

The Kennedy deal I think was a step in the right direction. Eckstein and Miles know eachother so they should be able to have a nice DP combination. Kip Wells is an okay pitcher. He's not great, but could be a solid 4 or 5 starter.

Personally, I like the deals so far. Look at the Marrero deal as equivelant to the Spiezio deal last year. Nothing to lose. And Wells should do fine at the end of the rotation.

But, basically the steal of it all was Kennedy. He'll be playing for 2.5 mil this year (btw, Henry Blanco, the Cubs BACKUP catcher will be making 1.8 this year and 2.8 next year...to be a backup catcher).

What Jock did was solidify the lineup while basically not spending anything. He's still got about 20 MILLION to spend on this roster (based on reported 100 Million dollar payroll). And I'm sure he's looking at pitching with that 20 MIL.

Carpenter signed an extension for 5 years at 65 mil. What a bargain! Glad the Cards didn't insult him by offering mediocre pitchers more money than Carp was getting paid. Anyway he is still a bargain at that price.

hell yea, Lets go Cards!!! What people don't understand is that it comes down to chemistry more than anything and there is something about putting on that white and red that makes even the most average player a superstar. Everyone dissed us for grabbing Weaver and look what he did for us. Somehow every deal that we make (no matter how minor) seems to work well for us. We won over 100 games in 2005 with several injured players. No matter how the numbers play out I see us going for another 100 win season and a WS appearance. I can't wait for Mulder's return and I'm looking forward to the 07 season. Lets go Cardinals, lets go!!

Winning the first game of the season cant hurt either! (Even if it is spring training)

I am liking how we are looking right now. The pitching's got me a little wary, but it did last year too. I'm excited about the young guns we have, especially Wainwright and Reyes. I can see us competing for the division and the pennant again, as usual, and that's where we have to be.

Where all my Cards fans at?

Opener tonight. It'd be nice to start it all off with a win and never look back, but really tonight is all about the festivities. World Series Champions... just feels good to say.

Here are my pics from opening day (night). I was using a new camera and unfortunately, half of my pictures came out corrupted. I have no idea what happened. The camera has a hell of a zoom though as I was in 167, row 22.
