2006 Milwaukee Brewers A Team On The Rise

It's almost that time again folks and last year gave Brewer fans something to be happy about, I mean dam there has been no glory since 1982!
Having ties to the Milwaukee area and often going back the Brewers are still my favorite National league team and once fellow New Yorker Mark Attanasio took over it could only get better, winning is in his blood he is a Yankee fan after all
The brewers have a great young infield of:
1B-Prince Fielder
2B-Rickie Weeks....who will be great
SS-J.J Hardy
3B-Corey Koskie....Solid vet in the infield
C- Still lacking I think but Damien Miller was aiiight
Solid outfield:
Carlos Lee who will probally top his 32hr 114rbi from lasy year
Brady Clark....great leadoff man with a .300 avg
Geoff Jenkins.....25-30hr .260-.270avg this year
pitching is solid at 1 and 2 with Ben Sheets and Doug Davis who had a hell of a year, one more solid starter I think would really help.
The bullpen brings back Dan Kolb to Milwaukee and our closer Derrick "Wildthing" Turnbow comes back this year after saving 39 games with only a 1.74era he also had 64k's in 67innings
I know I'm not the only Brewer fan out there so c'mon folks bring it
Brewer haters are welcome also.

yes. they will rise.....for the team pic in spring training...

j/k... they could be a sleeper team this year.. the big questions really are -1) is Fielder gonna be a power force this year & 2) can Turnbow do it again (see his now set up man Kolb)..

Don't forget about your potential future ace in the minors, Mark Rogers. I actually batted against this kid in Maine during the High School playoffs, and we only managed 2 hits off him, both being dinky little dribblers. I've also read online from numerous big league scouts that they also think that Rogers is the real deal. Could be a few years, but he should be a good one.

He would help thats for sure, like a said a third solid starter is what I think could take us to the next level.

He had 18 wins, but his ERA was a little high I believe.

Your 2006 Milwaukee Brewers

I hope this is the year things finally turn around. Pieces seem to be falling into place, so let's not mess it up

What we need for a successful season:
- Brady Clark to match the year he did last year as a leadoff man. His OBP could possibly rise, but is is bad to ask for a decent year?
- The young infield to pan out hitting wise. Prince Fielder, Rickie Weeks, JJ Hardy all look to be good young players, so if they keep up the development things should go decent.
- Newcomers to the team: Koskie should up his RBI with continual playing time, but we need a good defensive player at 3B. Let's hope he fills the void. Also we got back Kolb,
- Lee, Fielder, and Jenkins need to be on the offensive ball. I can only hope that Jenkins can keep his batting AVG up there, otherwise if he K's alot this year, I will go with my gut that told me to trade him last year when he was hot. [I think the brewers not ditching him has to do with a striking resemblance to a certain Wisconsin quarterback??]
- Chris Capuano and Ben Sheets have to have good years again, and hope we can get some quality starts from the rest of the rotation.
- Gomer Pyle [aka - Derrick Turnbow] hopefully keeps his form from the end of last year (0.90 ERA after the all-star break).

What options do you think this team has to hopefully make the playoffs this year?
