The mets Must:

1) sign billy wagner
2) sign paul konerko
3) NOT SIGN MANNY

i think that if the mets sign wagner, and konerko and move jacobs behind the plate the mets would be a very strong team this year, many people are talking furcal which would be awesome but i dont think hes gonna move to 2nd.

any thoughts on who the mets will look for at 2nd if they cant sign furcal

Manny. The Red Sox want to move him. Seattle and Angels know they're pretty much in control. Sure they may not want to trade him, but all these teams may continue to play the poker face. They may look at us for an offer only if Manny thinks NY can be better for him. Can Seattle or Anahiem top Floyd, Trachsel, and a rookie other than Milledge? If you want Milledge, than pay half of his salary remaning. $25M! This extra money can keep us alive at other areas.

Soriano or Furcal for 2B? Texas insists on Milledge. Keep reminding them that they need stating pitching to win. Zambrano, Trachsel and Bannister.
I don't think we can compete with the Cubs even though we're with them at 4yrs $40M. I think the Cubs will go that extra mile. We may need to cross our fingers on Matsui and have a least one good season out of the 3yr contract.

Pudge, Hernandez, Molina. Molina is a DH in the making soon. Explore with the Tigers what they would want. The money Hernandez is asking for makes Pudge more attractive to inquire with.

Octavio Dotel to set up Billy Wagner. Mike Myers and Ricardo Rincon in the pen. Mike Sweeney lefty bat off the bench. Grudzialanek at 2nd and Molina and Vazquez as battery mates.

I like Dotel if he can be healthy by Spring Training. He has pitched in NY before so that won't be a problem. Still dont want any part of Manny or Soriano. We have enough hitting now with Delgado and some free agent catcher. Get some bullpen help and we should be in the hunt next year for the Division.
